Ok,I got a laptop from a freind, but it's completely wiper,no drivers or Operating system. And,the Cds and floppy disks that were supposed to have the drivers on it didn't work, and I can't figure out how to get any drivers on it. It's an OmniBook 800 Hp,if anyone can help me,please post.

HP OmniBook 800 Support

What OS did you install on it? Doesn't look like it was made to support Windows XP

Well,I tried to put some drivers onto another disk, didn't work. I found a real windows 95 disk,it was screwed up. And,don't you need drivers before you can put in the OS? By the way,how do I get the win 95 from HP website onto my laptop?

No. You install the drivers after the OS. The only reason you would ever need to install them first is if your BIOS are screwed up and you can't boot from a disk.

If it's made for Windows 95, I doubt it's still under warranty. You can try finding an image of it online and burning it (...or putting it on a floppy, if it's that old :O) and then install from that. Only thing you have to watch out for is altered copies*.

Overall, I'd say get a better computer and just scrap that one unless it has amazing specs. You can get computers that run Windows XP for less than $50 these days. Even less on Ebay, if you're lucky.

*I don't know who would waste their time putting up a fake Windows 95 installation disk, but you never know :P
