To get more in depth, I use a spiced flour mix for the initial breading, dredge it in a reduced mountain dew solution, then put it into crushed doritos. The standard breading process for fried chicken is surprisingly simple, and quite honestly, nearly anything can be used to make a breading. While breadcrumbs are the usual, people have been known to use crackers, cereal, etc. It's a pretty fun and surprisingly tasty recipe, especially if you marinate the chicken in mountain dew as well (as I did), as the sugar and carbonation breaks down the muscle to make it extremely tender and adds a natural sweetness to it, which the chips help counter. It's best with tenders or strips since they don't take very long to cook, so there's little chance of burning the chips or losing too much of their flavor to the cooking oil.

I'd replace the doritos with flaming hot cheetos. any time I've tried incorporating doritos into other recipes it just tastes like salt and more salt
