On the topic of uni, have you guys done anything in college that you wished you shouldn't have done?

For me, it would be my choice in Industrial Engineering. I chose Engineering because I wanted to stray away from memorization and factual type tests since my strengths lie in math, numbers, and quantitative problem solving). Unfortunately, Industrial Engineering bombards you with research papers, memorization, and factual type tests. GG WP.

I would skip if they didn't dedicate a percentage of my grade on attendance. They have a system that reads eletronic IDs n shit for that so I can't bypass it :^(

Not applying for my preferred language course until after it was full. Especially since the intro class is only offered in the fall so I had to wait a whole year to even get started. I would've had 3 years of the language done by now instead of 2 and would've been able to declare it as a minor.

The professors don't take attendance themselves? They judge whether or not you showed up to class on data from a card reader outside the classroom? Dude, just swipe that shit before class and then run.

Don't you mean "Animator"?

Anyway, I wanted to take a course on animation but Philippines' entertainment industry is pretty crap. I told my parents I wanted to study in America or Singapore but they declined as they're pretty worried as they know no one on those places. I sucked it up since they're the one's paying for my education, took up Engineering, and I'm planning to fund myself for an art course in California most likely.

Your strengths are perfect for a programmer. What use does animating have for problem solving

Oh, simply because I'm not interested in programming.

Surprisingly, my weaknesses lie on creativity and anything art related. I guess it's what you'd call "passion" for a certain something even though you're naturally bad at it?

I regret some choices but mostly my choice of course. I only chose programming since it was the only course that could get me a job quick. Mainly coerced by parents. Wanted to go with psychology.

But you're not interested in Industrial Engineering either. You wanna be an animator. What's the problem here?

You don't need to be creative to be a Programmer, that's just a plus. Being a Software Engineer can get you the big the bucks faster.

What makes you want to study Psychology?

I'm interested in psychology too but definitely not enough for me to take it as a course. Is it your passion to learn how humans think?

When I was thinking which course to choose, programming was an option. However, I have 0 experience with programming and I assumed Engineering was basically math but just more advanced and with practicality, to which I already had a background on.

In the end, I was more confident in the realm of Engineering than in programming and that's what led me to choose the course I'm on now.

Yeah, sort of. I like to know how people tick. Its innate in me to look for why they do this thing or that. Why my coworker is a workaholic or why my manager is a douche. I'm not always right which is why I wanted to polish it, its all memorization and stuff but I'm good with that when it counts and like what I'm memorizing.

It's sad really, one of the arguments was that it didn't make much money. I couldn't argue against it because it was correct in ways.

Yeah, such is reality.

However, are you planning to take it once you graduated? If I remembered correctly, it's your last year in uni right?

I've already graduated. I have close to two years working in the programming industry. I'm planning to study psychology, I just don't know when. Its either I study on my own and buy books to read and attend seminars of find a school. I'm more inclined to the former.
