Lol I remember Jeremy making some kind of post in FA but I don't remember what it was about. Was he attempting a collab or did he just ask for people to check out SP?
I think it was actually why I lurked SP but I'm not sure.
there was a time when stickpage was pretty much in a death spiral. literally no one ever posted in the animation sections, and we stopped getting new members. the only people around were a handful in general discussion, but people were slowly disappearing. i denied it for a while, but the decline got really obvious. activity was getting slower and slower... multiple active staff stopped showing up, too, i'm pretty sure. the adbot spam got really fucking bad. every day consisted of deleting a bunch of adbot threads and making one depressing chat thread post or something.
Jeremy (a mod at the time and one of the few remaining members) and I got so desperate to save stickpage that we decided to go ask FA for help and explain our situation
i guess it was pretty much advertising/recruiting so it makes sense that the thread was locked.

that cj thing is bringing back memories now... iirc it was during stickpage's lowest point where everything was shit, and Jeremy and I actually went to Fluidanims asking for help because stickpage was dead. we brought the CJ thing up to show how little fucks the admins gave.
with basically no admins ever around, the mods were the highest authority, but we couldn't make real changes because the forum was fundamentally broken with spam and no new members joining. now I kind of realize that Jeff is taken for granted; I can't imagine having no higher-up to give assurance that the forum will be okay. we seriously thought stickpage was going to be over if we personally didn't do something
(zed was somewhere in there but I think he was inactive and had almost the same power as a mod)
EDIT: oh yeah, we were also pissed about Crazy Jay deleting an active member's account in response to TheSaw (a Stick Wars developer) being called a "fag."
it was just a kick in the dick to be worrying about all this bullshit in the absence of an admin... and then having the mysterious admin show up only to fuck with us and make things worse. apparently he also took away my mod powers despite the fact that i was doing slave labor to keep the site from turning into a spam dumpster
