Quote from FusionIt's a series of events, really. People just keep saying ridiculous ignorant things and I figure it's easier for me to ignore them than for them to find out I'm gay or something and try to ignore me, or do something even worse. It seriously amazes me how many people can actually be this dumb.
Dude, come out. Maybe they're only saying such ignorant statements because they can around you because they don't know how offended you are. Like how white people make fun of black people but would never do it in front of an actual black person... That standard, awkward racial-based social discourse will never end. I bet if you were like, 'guys, I'm actually homosexual, and I would appreciate it if you stopped your hurt comments, ya bloody wankers.' They'll be like, 'oh, I'm sorry, bro. I didn't know.' But to be honest, if they accept you, the insults won't end. They'll just become less hurt-based and humour-based. Like how a white person will make racist jokes to a very close black friend. It's better to ignore them, actually. You could do that 'fake coming out' where you state it in a humourous tone and quickly gauge their reaction before either laughing and playing it off or committing to it.
People's ignorance never amazes me anymore :(
