wtf lol

I think you're strongly mistaken here. He's just wondering if we can have the usual purple namers we've always had. There's no extra thing to it, there's nothing greater about the position, it's just a thing that lets people know they've served the community. It's for his status because he worked on this website for free and deserves it. There are like 3 people here that would be on the group that still go here, and like 12 others might be coming back once in a while. You could just add them all to a group or confront the matter every single time someone who'd be in it revisits inquiring where their purple went.

What are you talking about? Exilement specifically stated that "[...] it's all being discussed in a place that previous mods can't see or contribute their thoughts/ideas to." I honestly don't what the users in that group would gain by being in that group. If it's as Exilement stated and that they get access to the moderator section to contribute their thoughts and ideas, then I don't agree with adding ex-mods because, as I stated:

[...] most of the ex-moderators are also those who are the least accepting of any sort of change to this forum, so allowing them the ability to have input on what's going would be counter-productive to the overall goal of what we'd like to accomplish.

Wanting it simply to show off that you are of a greater status than the rest of the users on here is also a pretty narcissistic. I'd rather simply say 'no' when the topic comes up than potentially causing unrest among the greater community. There's already enough people acting like douchebags on both sides, I don't want to enable any more.

The main reason I'd like purple members back is because it's ingrained into our community and has been here for many years. It also lets inactive mods feel welcome to resigning if they feel they should. Purple names let them keep a little something that shows they existed and had a legacy here.

I don't think the idea of the group applies any more because Stone and I don't really know any of the ex-moderators, and it seems like most of the ex-moderators are also those who are the least accepting of any sort of change to this forum, so allowing them the ability to have input on what's going would be counter-productive to the overall goal of what we'd like to accomplish.

I think what you guys want to accomplish is successfully merging your community with ours.

I also think it's pretty ridiculous that you think the appropriate way to do that is by dismissing the opinions of every single person who ran this forum long before you ever showed up.

I don't want this for my "own status", I'm saying that I have a status that was stripped from me and the rest of the ex-mods just because the forum got hacked, and nobody's fixed it yet. The forum ran fine for the better part of a decade without you, and with an ex-mod group that still had access to the moderator section. But now that you're here you think it's unnecessary at best and dangerous/counter-productive at worst to let us back in, even though you openly admit to not knowing most of us. Do you not see how that might sound a little delusional?

If we're talking about narcissism I think it's pretty damn self-centered to assume your interest in this community is more altruistic than the people who used to moderate this forum before you came here.

I'm talking about not having that and just turning their damn names purple like i said. Exilement can voice his opinions in threads and PMs for you to read just like anyone else. I don't see a point in having that.

its just some veteranship appreciated. How is that narcissistic? Purple names were here since we joined, and exilement's just wondering if they're being re-implemented because it's just a part of the community we've been in for years.

Kitsune, the ex-mods had access to the bat cave, that's what I'm talking about. I couldn't give a single shit if my name was blue or purple. We used to have a certain privilege and now we don't, and the reasoning behind the change is ridiculous. If he's going to change something that's been part of stickpage as long as it's been around, the reason for it should be better than "We don't know you guys, but we don't think you're going to be very helpful, so no dice". I mean come on.

Well, only like two or three of you still actually drop by; the reason purples became purple is because they're gone, after all. I didn't understand why Zed gave them new permissions like editing posts that one time. To me, purple basically means "I'm gone"

I voluntarily resigned after starting college because I only had a few hours to spend on the forum per week, and I didn't want to take up a mod position if I had no time to put towards it. I was hardly "gone" but I still became part of that group immediately after. Disappearing from the boards isn't the only reason anyone gets that designation.

I'll at least agree with the permissions zed implemented. I don't think they caused any harm but it seemed unnecessary. if the mods were any good we'd have no reason to need them.

Purple names have been a part of stickpage since its creation, what right do you think you have to strip people of that? Its a part of stickpage history. If your community cant handle that then they need to grow the fuck up and stop being babies.

Not really the words I would use if I'm trying to convince someone, but okay.
