I think you're strongly mistaken here. He's just wondering if we can have the usual purple namers we've always had. There's no extra thing to it, there's nothing greater about the position, it's just a thing that lets people know they've served the community. It's for his status because he worked on this website for free and deserves it. There are like 3 people here that would be on the group that still go here, and like 12 others might be coming back once in a while. You could just add them all to a group or confront the matter every single time someone who'd be in it revisits inquiring where their purple went.
What are you talking about? Exilement specifically stated that "[...] it's all being discussed in a place that previous mods can't see or contribute their thoughts/ideas to." I honestly don't what the users in that group would gain by being in that group. If it's as Exilement stated and that they get access to the moderator section to contribute their thoughts and ideas, then I don't agree with adding ex-mods because, as I stated:
[...] most of the ex-moderators are also those who are the least accepting of any sort of change to this forum, so allowing them the ability to have input on what's going would be counter-productive to the overall goal of what we'd like to accomplish.
Wanting it simply to show off that you are of a greater status than the rest of the users on here is also a pretty narcissistic. I'd rather simply say 'no' when the topic comes up than potentially causing unrest among the greater community. There's already enough people acting like douchebags on both sides, I don't want to enable any more.
