this whole sig thing relates to some problem going on at my school

so we have a jewish student union, a "revival" club, and a bible club at our school that didn't face much opposition by the students. sometime last week an announcement for a skeptic club rang off and posters went up and everything

the posters are doodled on with shit like "i <3 god" and "you guys are dicks" and stupid shit like that, some of them got ripped down

i'm not an avid athiest or anything but holy shit how stupid can people get

I don't get why every school seems to have tons of clubs about a wide variety of topics, but my high school just has like 7 dumb ones that have been there for years/decades, and half are statewide things, while the other half are academic. I don't even know if new clubs can be created. In my chinese cartoons, they have bazillions of clubs, and anyone can always create any club they fucking want even if it doesn't even have a subject/purpose, just to hang out, fuk i'm jelly

since there are so few clubs, they are all very well known, and it seems like they've been there forever. at the beginning of the year you get a paper that lists them off with a paragraph about each one, looking like they were all professionally set up

the only one that is not academic or a statewide thing (like the Washington Technology Student Association) is "random acts of kindness", which was set up by the health teacher. however, it's kind of academic, because in freshman health, you actually have assignments where you're supposed to do something nice, which has to do with mental health or some shit.

we should make an "SPP Wannabe niggers" club in our schools and gain thousands of followers to praise the almighty Zed.

And I don't really like the idea of a random acts of kindness thing. Sure it's good to get people to do nice things but shouldn't they do them without being pressured to by some organization? It's like the TV commercials where they say if you don't donate 15 cents a kid in Ethiopia will get cancer.
