I don't really have any big family problems but I'm kind of annoyed that my dad has decided it would be a good decision to avoid his family whenever possible for his entire ~2 week vacation. That's a family thing.

You're not the one who gave him that infraction, oxob did, so I know we're kinda shooting the messenger here. But if you're going to defend oxob's actions simply because jutsu technically broke a minor rule, I have to explain why that's bullshit.


oxob saw a double post and then mindlessly gave him the appropriate infraction. Not a warning, meant for minor offenses, but an infraction meant for serious or repeated offenses. For what? Why do mods have the ability to give infractions in the first place?

aaand here's the bullshit part of this whole thing. Oxob punished Jutsu for double posting without correcting the problem in the process. He left the posts there, and so did you, neither of you made any effort to fix the problem that apparently justifies that infraction. I had to do it myself. Apparently oxob didn't know what the real problem was (not surprising, after nearly 7 years I've never seen someone relate double posting to the database before), otherwise he would've merged the posts as well. Since he didn't, he was just blindly using moderation tools without making any real attempt to fix anything, which is what those tools are supposed to be used for.


I've recently merged a few double posts from older members without giving them infractions for it. Why bother? We're all here to have fun. This place should be enjoyable, and having every little broken rule thrown back in your face is just annoying and immature, especially when no one is being disruptive. I'd feel like a complete asshole for giving an otherwise decent member an infraction for something we all know is harmless.


I don't really want to be one of your mods if you're going to defend oxob's actions while condemning Jutsu's. It shows a complete lack of empathy toward the most dedicated members of this community, and if that's how we're supposed to run things around here I'd rather not be a part of it.

Yeah, all of that said you still broke a rule and we're still supposed to warn you for it. I've let you get away with things that'd technically deserve warnings/infractions, so stop acting like one infraction makes this place a totalitarian regime or something.

You and I are both used to unresponsive and generally shitty administrators who don't care about this forum, but stone and jeff are legitimately trying to make this merge work. If you have a problem with something we're doing, be civil about it and let us know. They're surprisingly receptive to the community, but when you break a rule you're in no position to criticize us for following standard procedure. Jeff's been more than willing to change procedure based off of our feedback, so just try to be respectful instead of getting pissed off over an infraction that expires in a week. Trust me, I know from experience that it's not worth it.

I've received one infraction for bump a thread I think; and I was a stupid noob and all, and I didn't know about that rule, because I didn't read the forum rules before, it was completely my fault, and after that I haven't broke that "little" rule again. Now... The thing is way different if we're talking about a guy with over 8-9 thousand posts.... and doesn't seems to give a snap about that "little" rule, I know we're here to have fun and stuffs, but rules are here for some reason, if there are no rules everything will be a chaos, I'm not saying that double post will bring chaos, I'm just pointing that (minor or not) is still an infraction.

I can see exilement's point that yeah... Oxob should've fixed that, and I'm sure that it'll not happen again (he should've forgot it or something :3).
