phones aren't expensive when you get them on contract. $100 isn't expensive if you're older than 16.

My phone was twice that at upgrade price on a contract. And the specs were about half as nice as what Xero listed.

That's an upgrade price, on a new 3-year contract contract the phone is like $50. First time buyers could get the phone very easily for cheap so long as they had the ability to maintain their contract over time. If you're making less than $100 a week at your job then you have a pretty shitty job or maybe you just don't get enough hours given minimum wage in Indiana is $7.25/hr, so if you make less than $100 a week at 7.25 you'd only be working for 13 or less hours a week which isn't that much. After 16 it's not hard to find a job that you can work, $100 shouldn't be expensive if you're not a lazy entitled suburban.

I do make $7.25 an hour, and I generally get around 20 hours in. Withholdings, bro.

My old job was $15 an hour with nothing withheld. Good times. I still like this job a lot better. That other one sucked.

EDIT: Also, you apparently don't know what Indiana is like. Michigan's even worse, but Indiana's like an employment black hole. No one has a job here, and no one has work. It took me four years of active looking to get this one, and even then I only landed the job because my mother is their star employee. And that was after my last job was working for my father. And before that, I had looked for about three years for a job without getting one.
