It's initiated more drug addicts than literally any drug.

Though I don't have solid data to support this claim.

Eh, I dunno. I don't put sugar into my coffee, take a sip, and then think I should go out and try some MDMA. I really think the only reason weed is considered a gateway drug is because all through out our childhood we are told that it is such a terrible thing, and that we shouldn't smoke it or otherwise we'll come down with all this stuff, and then when we do try it, find out it has no negative effect when it isn't abused, the parents/authorities lose all their credibility.

So people think, well weed wasn't actually bad for me so maybe I'll try some pingers, oh, my brain didn't melt, maybe I'll try some acid, oh, I didn't scratch my arms trying to get the spiders that were under my skin, maybe I'll try something else. If people were told the truth and properly educated instead of having scare tactics thrown at them they would understand the risks of any drug use and probably stay away from using and/or abusing hard drugs.

Are you trying to derail another decent conversation topic? You're coming awfully close to getting a kick in the throat.

Agreed. This same method entices us to other "dangerous" things, like smoking and alcohol. Scaring us into not doing something with the whole anti whatever propaganda only makes us want to see how it really is. But it also makes snobbish kids and "perfect" people shove their side against the user, which has always been unfair to me.

well, stigmatism is definitely a major factor. actually being in contact with a dealer is probably another big one.

i'd still argue that sugar is something that breeds addictive personality from a very young age, later largely replaced by caffeine. whether or not this gets combined with other factors that lead to a drug lifestyle is very circumstantial.

What about medical drugs? ¬.¬ Drugs are bad, or only bad drugs are bad? Because marijuana is marijuana. So whats the difference between a doctor giving it to you, and that ol dope dealer downtown? If drugs are so dangerous, which they are, why do hospitals justify their use of it, then preach about it killing people worldwide.

because big pharmaceutical companies have a a lot of money to pay off researchers and lawmakers enough that their products are designated safe and legal and highly recommended by your GP

To be honest, derp aside, 100% serious. What. The hell. Are those words. That you said. I caught money, and lawyers. Got he jist of it though. Gist? Jist? To hell with autocorrect. Its because medicine peoples have the money to make their drugs less dirty and unrefined with the help of researchers and scientists? Still. Im pretty sure they only use it on dying patients to soothe them. Don't quote me on it, though.

I didn't even consider that, but yeah, I'll agree with that, the amount of friends I've seen that quite literally need sugar is worrying, and it makes sense for that behavior to remain for the rest of their life. I can think of at least two friends that were heavy sugar eaters who eventually did develop some degree of dependence on something (though one was just chain smoking and the other was weed).

Also scarecrow does your view on this extend to drugs used in hospitals or purely to consumer bought medicine?

D: no, please don't. And wow, the lack of proper spelling in that post made it significantly dumber. Just correct those in your head.

prescription medicines included, yes. don't know about hospitals, they more just treat you until you're OK and then kick you out.

i'm not saying all medications are explicitly bad for you though. antibiotics are a good example; they can be useful if you have a certain kind of infection, but are otherwise useless. the thing is, despite the warnings of independent scientists (which were basically entirely ignored; presumably due to aforementioned corruption), they've been hugely overprescribed to the extent that bacteria are evolving to be immune to them.

The fuck are you doing here? You said you were going to take one of your long breaks. This has barely been a month. Get out, or risk breaking your word as a gentleMAN.
