I was actually pushing more towards the fear mongering surrounding our diet/drug usage/whatever. Cut all white sugar, don't eat gluten, all fat is bad for you, etc. People eat it up without even considering what they would benefit from it. White sugar is fine in suitable amounts, the problem is that white sugar is in nearly everything as you pointed out.

I've come to learn that drugs are basically the modern world's way of filtering out the dependent and unsuccessful. I smoke weed at the minimum once a week. But I don't feel any stipulation to try and expand my horizons and see what other drugs are out there to fuck with me internally. That's cause I know taking more steps up the ladder makes a more dangerous fall.

When you sit around with a generic group of your stoner friends and you're all poking smot there's normally a select few that are always chatting and speculating about shit like hallucinogens and synthetic marijuana. But there's always other folks who get high just to get high. Not because they get this sick thrill of fucking with their brain and putting themselves through mental experiences that alter your perception of reality which in turn makes you reject reality as a whole. At that point you're just the person that NEEDS the trip. You live off of it and it becomes who you are. So it never really bogs down to the access of drugs. Just cause I have a blender doesn't mean that I now have the temptation to make a smoothie out of everything in my pantry. Just cause I bought the Xbox One doesn't mean that I now must own every game published for it.

It comes down to the user. And those that throw their focus solely on something as unprogressive as hardcore drugs would've most likely turned to something else as equally meaningless if there was an absence.

what are you talking about? when you smoke weed or drink alcohol you're putting yourself through a mental experience and altering your perception of reality, how is someone who smokes "just to get high" not doing it for the thrill of fucking with their brain in the same exact way you described? other than the rejecting reality as a whole part, I have no idea what that means or why you think it's a natural consequence of taking mind-altering drugs other than the ones you occasionally use.

Getting high doesn't alter your perception of reality. When I said that I was referencing to things like acid or meth. Things that actually make your brain believe that what is is no longer what is, but rather something else you formulate from a trigger. Basically an internal breakdown. And what I'm saying is that people enjoy that. They do it to the point where reality becomes a facade. That's where you get characters like what you see in Breaking Bad. Hopeless people who live for drugs and spend all their wealth on it.

I smoke weed because I want to.

I don't need any other reason and I'd like to not be judged for it.

Lately I've just been procrastinating, and because of that I made the genius call to merge my pub time with study, resulting in getting no work done while killing all the fun of being at the bar.
