STORY TIME.
So I quit my job today. I hadn't slept in about two days due to the ridiculous scheduling. I worked until 11 one night and then had to open at 7 the next morning. Keep in mind that: 1. I'm a night person that has a hard time falling asleep as it is. and 2. I live half an hour away from the store I work at. and 3. It's the third night in a row I've had to do that. I had it. The staff is amazing and I made sure I said goodbye to everyone at least over text or whoever was there today in person, but I told my GM that I couldn't keep doing this and that I had to walk away from this considering how it had consumed my life. I've literally done nothing but work and kind of sleep for the past week and a half, and it's driving me insane. The hours are all over the place, and my shitty ten dollars an hour isn't worth the insane amount of work us managers put in considering how understaffed the company seems to like to keep it's stores.
So tonight, I will eat lots of cake, drink lots of milk, watch lots of netflix, and sleep happily knowing that I don't have to wake up at 4 to be at work at 5 on time the next morning like I was originally scheduled. Today is a good day for Cruel Kind.
