Yeah, just found out.
Even with the comments, I had to watch the actual episode on YouTube in order to seriously get that.
I was expecting a joke to get, but instead I just got really sad.
My god that's dark

Is that the same episode where Tom is going to go to Hell if Jerry doesn't forgive him, or is it a different one?

It's so sudden when you realize the black humor in our favorite childhood cartoon shows. Take Courage the Cowardly Dog, for example, at times the show can get a bit dark and scary for kids to watch, like the Ghost of the Harvest Moon (the white floating head with no eyes and a dark theme song to compesate with it. Despite the frighteningshow imagery, it is a really great show with hidden morals for kids and adults.

It's the same episode, which is "Heavenly Puss".

Been a long time didn't watch Courage. Perhaps 'Grim's Adventures of Billy & Mandy' show did the dark humor, too?
Looks like it's a different one. What I remember is that episode appeared when Tom was being hit by a big piano from upstairs because of his own clumsiness to get Jerry lol, correct me if I'm wrong, too.
This makes me wondering for something. Does Cartoon Network want to do a reboot for Tom & Jerry? This link makes me asking about it.

Yeah. The episode features Tom getting hit by a piano resulting him to be sent to heaven, but the receptionist won't let him in unless Tom makes Jerry sign a letter of forgiveness within an hour.
If he fails, he goes to hell lol.

That's how the thing on the left was made. They then choreographed and copied the thing on the right exactly as it appeared.

Damn. I still remember the King Ramses one. When I was 5 years old, I was so fucking scared of it, that I run to my mom, and asked her to hold me like a baby(In which I HATE being treated like a baby). Good memories. Nevertheless:
Black Comedy all the way.

I like courage the cowardly dog. But some of the episodes scared the shit out of me when I was a kid.

The Floating Head from the episode "The House of Discontent" still gives me chills. I even had a nightmare of it when I was a child. Think King Ramses was scary? Try watching House of Discontent with that haunting ghost head floating around saying "Get out" with his intimidating voice.
