New Gamemode Idea- Conquest

So, I realize that plenty of people may have thought up something like this before, but I haven't seen any posts about it (at least on the front page) so I'm just going to go ahead and say the idea that came to me.

Here's an image which is basically a rough sketch of what the maps would look like:

This gamemode would force players to take the tower unlike ever before. In the two existing gamemodes, a lot of people don't understand it's importance. That will change. The players that don't think they need the tower face the task of dealing with a ghost giant. But now, they would be punished by having to deal with three. This isn't as unfair as you would think because it not only would take a lot of time, but it is the players fault if they find themself sitting at the base building miners while the other player is already getting every tower and the tower spawns. In regards to how getting tower spawns to work could go two ways:

Or, It can be similar to passive income and stack up after each time you buy it. However, this would disable the player from choosing what tower they would like to upgrade.

Anyway, besides having the towers be claimed like you would think, it could be that you must get the tower closest to you before moving on to the next if that balances things a bit.

Finally, this gamemode is intended to be a little longer so if you feel that may be an issue, you are not forced to play and this gamemode wouldn't be for you. I personally like playing games that last a bit longer for pretty much every game.

Nice idea, though I'd like to just see some maps with more towers rather than a whole game mode for it.

It's a shame that there isn't really enough players for splitting queues to still leave decent waiting times though :/

Obvious Castles or Swamp or any other short maps don't work on this mode. Besides, this kind of mode will take real long to finish tbh, since it's totally League-based. Also, turtlers get rekt.

To me, those are two very positive things. As I stated, I like longer gamemodes. Also, don't you just hate when someone gets walls, spearton walls, magikills, and archers? They just sit there until they clean up a bunch of your units. I would love to see them try now! Also, I think there would need to be special maps for it.

That's a valid point. However, people hate change and modifying maps people have gotten used to for years even could stir up a bunch of anger.

That would also work, but that also is still a change to the game that people may not be ok with.

Every darn patch will risk that. As long as it's balanced it shouldn't be too much of an issue.

This is quite a nice idea. :P I always felt like having multiple towers in long maps like grass hills would be more suitable anyways. XD

Point is, it's sorta forcing this gamemode down people's throats regardless of what gamemode you actually play, you know?

I was thinking of having maps bigger than that even for this gamemode. I don't know. Just me probably. Nobody else seems to be on board with a long gamemode.

Turtling is a legitimate strategy. If you think it's bad that it exists, then you should develop a wider repertoire of strategies.

I don't support something that punishes 1v1 swordluck fights and completely obliterates turtling. 60 gold every few seconds is equivalent to almost 6 miners. Not cool. The advantage is so ridiculously high.

I don't really like the idea of this being a gamemode but, adding this to classic on some maps (No short) would be nice.

Well, there's deathmatch for people who don't like long games. Maybe this is for people like you who like longer games. I like this idea, but I don't think it's a good idea to have maps longer than grass hills. Maybe their should also be gold mines in between the towers, just taking into account for the long games.

You're right. There isn't much else you can do. But in this gamemode, you can. For example, people can get creative and rush for like the middle tower before the other guy gets there instead of waiting to claim the one closest to them. Next step would be to run for the tower closest to the enemy castle which would result in failure due to the bigger build up of the units back there than you have rushing off the start. If that doesn't please you, the towers don't need to give you as much gold if any at all. Better?

Understandable. I know a lot of people wouldn't like it which is why it would be better to give it a seperate gamemode as opposed to forcing it upon people like you that wouldn't enjoy it as much. Adding it with random maps would lead to a lack of preparation in the beginning. It would be similar to playing a normal match and all of a sudden you find yourself in dm. That is obviously an extreme example since you don't have a lot of miners and gold to begin with (or maybe it would) but the main point is, adding such a game changer may ruin it for some which is why it would be better to make it an optional gamemode as opposed to a chance gamemode.

That could work too. I'm also thinking having 2 barriers per team automatically to begin. 1 seperating the opponent from the tower nearest to you, and the other seperating the opponent from running past the middle tower. This would aid the people that don't like sending units out in the beginning. Maybe even have only one castle archer in a little tower per team behind the tower closest to them? But yes, surely more gold.
