I have been playing for about a year now, my ranking is 1500 and I am beginning to see the spearcher startegy with tons of kiting. I myself have never been able to kite. Anyone have any suggestions?

Click back
When the bow is reloaded, press G
Repeat
That's all there is to it. Optimizing your kiting requires timing your G for the exact moment that the bow is reloaded (you don't want to waste time sitting with a full bow) and that's the part of kiting that really takes skill. For now I'd recommend just making sure you hit G soon after you see you're ready to fire. Another note: If your bow isn't up your archer won't shoot, even if an arrow is loaded. This seems to happen to me the most when enemies are near my archers, so just make sure you're not losing much ground.

G can be replaced with S. That's how I prefer it anyways.

At top level play, you always need G, because it kites instantly.

Instead of g i go gh, then move back gh then move back...repeat. Works well for me.

I go for g then movement command with archers to make them fire properly on the next one.
A-click works on the bots because 0 ping but isn't optimal for PvP play.

H works too. But as DAZ said, G is generally better because it's instant. With H or S you need to press the key then click back instantly, it's considerably easier to mess up or lose ground this way. I also find that G-kiting is more lag-friendly than H- or S-kiting.

In theory if you had 0 ping you could probably make S kiting faster than G kiting, but it's not optimal with any amount of lag because you'll lose ground.

A-click works great when you're chasing. It's also instant.

Nah, better to rightclick due to choice of target.

Meh, for me it is slower to do it that way.

Depends on the situation.
G kiting is pretty standard, and is best used when you are in a dangerous situation and speed is completely necessary. Works best because while lag does affect the timing, it doesn't change how fast you run, as it does for the other kinds of kiting.
Then there is H kiting, backwards. The only reason to use this is in a situation when you are in little danger from the thing chasing you and would prefer to kill it if possible. Also, lag should be minimal. The reason to use this is in situations like say, you are at full health being chased by a single sword in a map like grass hills. You dont want to be hit, but it would also be preferable to kill the sword should it suddenly switch direction and attempt to escape. since you are using h, it is slightly easier to quickly change direction after you kite so that you maintain some proximity to him, and are able to finish him off. This is just based on my personal experience and preferences though...
For forward kiting, as DAZ said, right clicking both for the moving and attacking is preferable, since you are able to choose the target ie. a weakened sword vs a strong one or edge archers in a spear archer build. of course H or S kiting can also be used when it doesnt matter what you hit and may or may not be faster for you than clicking.
