PHOTOSHOP CLASS THREAD

So I'm taking a basic Photoshop class (not a photo editing class; basically just an art class on the computer) and I decided to start a thread to compile and share all of the projects that I'm going to complete throughout this term. Cnc is always welcome and appreciated. I definitely need all the tips I can get considering that this is the first time that I am using Photoshop and I'm also not a great artist.

[9/19] Project 1

The assignment for this project was to create an abstract piece that utilized at least 3 repeated elements and also contained asymmetrical balancing.
Score from teacher: 10/10

[10/6] Project 2

For this project we were told to use at least 10 Photoshop brushes to create a more realistic piece that also has asymmetrical balancing.
Score from teacher: 10/10

[10/10] Project 3

The teacher wanted us each to pick a word to represent artistically. The finished product should include a stylized word with an appearance that represents the meaning of the word (for example the word "bubble" written with bubbly, floating, transparent letters).
Score from teacher: PENDING

[11/17] Project 4

This time we were told to make a cubist self-portrait. I had a hard time doing this one, being new to Photoshop and all. It was also quite hard to capture what cubism really is. The whole movement seems quite strange to me. Anyway, I'm not particularly satisfied with the way this one turned out but I handed it in just to get it done with (I had spent way too much time on it).
Also there's WAY too much blur.
Score from teacher: PENDING

[11/19] Project 5

This time, we had to use a variety of text manipulation in order to present 10 instances of our name in an artistic way.
Score from teacher: PENDING

[12/16] Project 6

We had to pick a piece of literature and illustrate it, including imagery from the piece and the text in it. I chose "The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost. Halfway through adding in the text I realized that there was no way for me to add it in that I'd be satisfied with (not to mention the fact that the picture doesn't even match the details of the poem. I have no woods for the roads to diverge in.) so I decided to just upload both versions: the no-text version that I prefer and the text version that I turned in.
Score from teacher: 9.5/10

[1/8] Project 7

We had to create a logo for a business card or something, and then explain why we did what we did. I kind of rushed this because I was behind after taking an extended vacation for the holidays. The icon has name in it and only 3 colors. I know that the box is kind of pixelated but I seriously can't be bothered to go fix it.
Score from teacher: 9/10

[??/??] Project 8

I don't remember when I finished this shit or what the teacher said about it. All I knew is that I was done and I was too hype for the end of the term to process anything. This is supposed to be a business card or something.
Score from teacher: 9.5/10

[Final Words]
Well I'm finally done with this damn class. The only useful things I learned were how to make bloom effects and how to be pissed off by a dry-ass art teacher that has the eyesight of a rotten potato. There will be no more updates to this thread... not that anyone cares anyway.

Thanks for all the CnC, support and all that jazz.

Does the teacher actually give you feedback, or does he just rate 10/10 once it's done? Lol
I like the 2cnd one, cool stuff

The teacher watches as we work and such and gives us suggestions and changes to make to our work. When we're done/when we're out of time we hand our work in, get a score and sometimes get a comment.

The perspective on the roads is kinda off, and at first, before I read the title, I couldn't tell that they were roads at all since they're basically just colored strips. Maybe if you gave them some kind of subtle texture and made it look more like they fit in with the rest of the scenery they'd be much more easily distinguishable

The thing about cubism is that you don't just cut your image up a la Britto; you view the subject from different angles and then merge them so you see them all at once. Think of it as sitting in a fixed position drawing something you're seeing in front of you but, the object is being regularly rotated so that you see it differently. I hope I'm making sense ; I apologize if I'm not. That is anyway, how it started. What you should be butchering is the concepts of proportion, three-dimensional form and traditional art techniques and concepts that imitate nature. The piece shouldn't be an 'art imitates life' piece; it should be a deconstruction and reconstruction of the subject.
