I think this is actually a great way for things to go, because I seem to remember this being how clans were originally supposed to be. With a few beginners and a few more experienced animators, there emerges a good opportunity for the less experienced animators to learn.

It's a Japanese term which means "upperclassman", you know, like if you're Grade 5 and the person's Grade 6, then that person is your senpai.

So really it means that guy who's better than you.
