Beyond that though, rather than ask other people which weapon he should use, why do you animate?

If you do it for fun, then whatever that poll tells you shouldn't matter. If you like the idea, take it and run with it. If the reason's solely that other people might think it's cool, don't.

First give me a reason to care.

This doesn't need a thread of its own. If you want to use a new weapon, just do it. We aren't going to give you sage advice over making new stick figure swords.
