Ok so I know what it means to joint (collab with another user/person) but. How do you even joint? How are you suppose to have the same animation put together as one. This really confused me. Please help :|

You load other people's FLA files and weave them together like a patchwork quilt.

I assume there is some way GIFs/piv files can be converted to become an inferior Asset/Object by which Flash can use to mend them. And that is why cross-platform joints are often bad or undesirable

You find another person. You plan something like a fight etc. You then take turns animating part by part.

To expound what "HyMaster" said:

1.) Joints are usually done by pairs where they would come to an agreement and conditions which is:
( a ) Who will start first
( b ) What it's about
( c ) Workspace(Dimensions and FPS)
( d ) The Animation itself(Music, characters, setting, and resources)

2.) The pair will then decide where they will send the .fla's to one another. Commonly, animators now use "DropBox" to keep everyone up to date with their work but you can also upload in the following sites and give the .fla directly to your partner VIA PM or IRC and they'll download it.

3.) Once everything is set up and planned, the animator who goes first will fulfill the conditions given to him:

The condition in which the animator will fulfill before passing it to his partner(Conditions vary depending on the agreement). It can be of the following:
(1)Amount of time, meaning after you animate xx seconds, you must pass it
(2)Amount of frames, meaning after you animate xx frames, you must pass it
(3)A certain scene, meaning you're given a scene to animate and once you're finished with it, you must pass it

4.) This goes on and on until it ends. If it gets sponsored, the money will be split by how you two agree on it.

Someone starts the animation in the desired program Flash/Pivot/Toonboom/whatever and then the send that animation file, I.e the .Piv file or the .Fla file, to the other person. They animate their part and then send it back. Rinse, repeat.
