My secret is to open 3 chat bars with 3 inactive accounts, so any new chat requests will create the scroll button but not force its way open while I play. You can also set your status to offline, as a few others do.

THANK YOU SO MUCH. THANK YOU THANK YOU.

another idea is to restrict chat box to premium users only, but i suppose that might be too much.

Too much.

Once the censors and the no email start-up glitches are fixed, it will be a lot better.

True, I would still prefer to see an ip ban, so they cannot even after making a new email to make a new account, which some people do go to just to troll. It is honestly the best option, ip chat ban. With the ip chat ban, boom the person is banned and you never have to worry about him for an hour or so, which may in term actually force the troll to play a game for once instead of chat all day.

Admins should get the power to ip ban, but only reliable ones. It may be a little to much, but it can still help if there are players that lag or freeze games, boost, etc.

I agree, this also prevents millions of alts being produced just for the reason of spamming, aka dodging.

Admins should not IP ban. There's no need. Fix the account recreation problem, and this issue goes away.

True. But that won't stop some people.

Wyz, persistent people can just keep coming in with mailinator accounts. It takes half a minute. Most places I've seen have IP bans in place or a way to at least check a user's IP. Doesn't need to be a perma-IP ban, just a temp one. I don't see how it's a drastic change and I don't see why moderators shouldn't have that power.

I honestly don't think anyone's bothering to use this right now, and any few that do can be reported to CJ or Brock. I see your point, but it's not an issue at this moment.

Because IP ban would prevent them from playing the game, which is not what chat admins are for.

IP ban from chat. We've never had power to ban people from playing SE.

To an extent, yes. I feel this should only be exectuted to players who lag, cheat, boost, etc. (Like I mentioned before)

Chat "administrators" will never get the ability to IP ban someone, for either the entire game or just the chat. Reasoning? Let's look at how they were selected. The majority of them posted on a thread and asked to become "administrators" before most other people and were accepted on first come, first serve bases. Not to mention, it seems most people here don't actually understand how easy it is to change your IP (It literally takes, 2 minutes). Not to mention most ISP's use Dynamic IP addresses, which means they change automatically. So if you effectively wanted to IP ban someone, you'd have to do it something like this 1.744.9*(Which would ban ALL users with those digits) when your average IP would look something like this 1.744.945.20.
