Well, I'll tell you what I know. SP lacked activity and FA lacked visitors. So FA merged with SP to gain benefits. Most likely for SP. Now we're here.

And why FA was better than SP? It was because it had lots of activity you could take part in. Especially the portal and some other neat shits. The participants in FA focused more on the 'Stick' side while here at SP the participants are more mature about talking and with less 'stick' types of talking.

If you visit hyunsdojo and compare it to FA, you could say that they are alike but different overall.

For me though, both are great in some ways.

^He's only partially right.

SP lacked activity because it was just hacked by a crazy admin who almost wiped out the site.
FA didn't really lack the visitors as much as they couldn't afford to keep up paying for the bandwidth to get more visitors. No matter how fun their little place was.

So the merge was a mutual agreement, and not a takeover as much as the FA-fanatics will have you believe. FA finally had a stable place it could thrive in. SP received an influx of new animators and animations to revive it back to its former glory. Both were supposed to benefit.

BUT certain things happened in the middle of it:
1) SP's Portal was still "in development" (or existed in a very primitive form). This enraged alot of FA-ers who had their own portal at least. Thus spawned...
2) The creation of the Dojo, which is made of FA Alumni, but markets itself to span beyond SP's scope. Supposedly.
?) There are other reasons, but thats the simplest explanation between the apparent FA-SP rift*

It's not fair to say that FA is "better" or that SP "devoured" FA for itself. Those are biased views for people who to this day thinks that FA was still a more fun and better site or that SP was better without the RHG system taking roost. But the truth of it was as soon as the move happened, many of the personalities that made FA great never even gave SP a chance. Additionally, there was a significant age gap between the now-grown-up SP-ers and the massive juvenile FA-ers that resulted in a clash of cultures (that has since smoothed over the years).

*There is no FA-SP Rift in stickpage anymore at present. Well there is, but they're staying all the way over there in the Dojo, leaving this place alone 90% of the time. Occasionally we'd get a couple of FA trolls who think this place as their personal playground and have often gotten banned for it.
