UrghBlah trying to get a fast win with sw/ar starting. No miner splitting either.




AKAGI's a little slow starting out, but does manage good splits. His Archidon start is a good balance of army/economy.




Terrible approach from UrghBlah, sending the sword in much farther. AKAGI will get a couple free hits before it's moved behind the archidon.



UrghBLah understands he needs to capitalize now or never with his start and tries to press on AKAGI.


AKAGI will start pushing back, but Urghblah has another swordwrath moving in.

UrghBlah kites backwards as his first sword is weakened while AKAGI proper kites forward to respectively punish the approach. During this it's important to note something else working against UrghBlah. Do you see it?


Urghblah is too involved with covering is offense he is neglecting basic purchase needs. This may wind up very costly down the road if he can't turn things around now with his army.


Besides not making purchases, he's neglecting his economy as a whole. UrghBlah now has an idle miner, and his existing force is not splitting between gold patches. Just more reasons why sword archer on these maps is never economically efficient. But the worst is yet to come for UrghBlah.


Even with a healthy swordwrath nearby, UrghBlah does not recycle and keeps kiting backwards, giving AKAGI the free kill. UrghBlah's archidon is also in backwards kiting range from AKAGI but he does not capitalize.


UrghBlah does not recognize he holds the army advantage until he's pushed back to the tower. While he turns around for the chase, his archidon is very late to move forward, giving AKAGI's swordwrath plenty of room to escape back to the safety of his base.


We interrupt this moment to give you... stable economy. AKAGI does not worry about holding tower because he understands his builds will be coming out faster. At least for now. The longer he waits, the more UrghBlah can capitalize on those 20 gold increments.


Here's UrghBlah's economy ten seconds later. He's down a few miners, and AKAGI is making a swordwrath to one up for tower.


The prophesied approach. I don't like how he didn't garrison that weak sword from before, but it does not hinder him. Again, notice UrghBlah's lack of attention to his gold.


A few things happen here that are very critical to both players and I will point them out. UrghBlah is seen here retreating but not effectively. His swordwrath is properly distanced from his own archidon, but the archidon not within range of AKAGI's swordwraths. AKAGI's approach somehow got moved a little bit and his swords are much farther out from his archidon. UrghBlah had a good opportunity to g kite without taking any damage but missed his shot moving early.

Urghblah returns with a reinforcement swordwrath, and AKAGI concedes. His archidon was sent back to the garrison. AKAGI is playing this safely, as he understands he's got the one-up in the economy, so keeping a healthy army is less of a risk then to play it for constant control.


That tower reclaim for AKAGI in 20 seconds. Now that his units are at full health, it will be harder for UrghBlah to cheese him off.

It's time to peak at the economies! UrghBlah seems to have settled a bit, holding a good deal of mana as well, but one macro choice here I disagree with is the archidon. With that amount of mana, I would have speared earlier (depending on the pressure, with AGAKI has not delivered), or opt for hustle to make up for some lost gold.


AKAGI is taking good advantage of his mana for a spear, but I disagree with the rage pick. He doesn't have a high volume of swordwrath, and at this stage in the game it would be ill advised. Even without knowing how archidon centered UrghBlah is right now, he could get a feel how at this rate economies are both working and it won't be long until they're to battle it with better units.


AKAGI gets his spear and makes a reasonable approach. I would have packed the unit group a little closer together, as the spearton moves faster, and is already in range to be safely kited.


This right here is the last nail on the coffin for UrghBLah. Even just selecting the units to wait behind tower is better. Don't Mass garrison. However, it works for a bit because he was never checked for a castle archer, and AKAGI retreats for no reason.


UghBlah rallies the remaining troops and tries to make a push for the tower.


UrghBlah's spear does not survive, and the archidons to not make it out well enough.
