Chances are you've pictured yourself in a band. If you didn't, now you just did. Which band member would you be (we's keeping this pure i.e. no vocals and guitar bullshit)?

Yeah, I do.

It's quite fun really. Although, I'll be focusing on playing the violin now as playing the guitar has lost its "novelty" for me.

Violin sounds neat. I always tried picking up an instrument (guitar, harmonica) but never had the motivation to stick with it.

Oh and how transferable is guitar to other instruments like bass, keyboard, etc? Is it just a matter of getting used to the movements or are there some other added factors?

Guitar can be split into 3 major roles in a band.

Rhythm, Lead, and Bass. Each one of them has the same or rather, similar building blocks. What makes them differ is their playing style and most of the time, your hand movements. Rhythm is the simplest role out of the three as it involves playing chords and power chords rather than notes. Bass being an average difficulty but it is hard as the frets are farther apart than the standard 6-string guitar. Plus, their strings are really thick and require power to pick them. In fact, it is the guitar that requires the most power and stamina in your hand and fingers. Finally comes the lead role which may or may not be difficult, depending on the piece you guys are playing.

As for moving from guitar to another instrument, you have to change your overall body movements. Although, you will have the upper hand as most instruments need the same skill which is multitasking. If we take Keyboard as an example, you will need to change your hand movements and your finger placement. Unlike the guitar, piano's/keyboard's require more effort and hand-eye coordination to be able to play properly. Since in a guitar, the hand strumming can go about freely and all you need is to focus on the other hand which plays the notes, keyboard requires both of your hands.

In fact, I believe the instrument which fine tunes your "Multitasking" is drums. Especially if you sing while you play it. It literally requires your whole body to sync with one another to be able to play. Add singing to that and well, you have a formula for "Hardest role in the band".

I have no skill whatsoever with instruments, but I'm always hooked to the drum playing at the background.

I'd imagine myself playing bass. I've already had a lot of experience playing a cello and stuff.
Plus bass guitar is super badass like Veir said.

I've always pictured myself playing the drums because I've always been fascinated with playing them, so why not?

Working with percs is fun.

Although bass is not very popular, they are badass.
Yep.
Keeping rhythm for your whole band while being independent is always badass.
Just like Hibari; cloud aura; keeping the Vongola team up even while bein' independent.

What?

Bass players aren't independent. In fact, they're the core rhythm and not the rhythm guitarists. Basic roles of a band composes of drums for beat, bass for core rhythm, and guitar to complete the rhythm.

I sing more often than I'm comfortable admitting.
