please tell me that trance track isn't your favorite purely because it's TranceDevotee's favorite.
it's not that great of a song. There's not much depth to it. Production wasn't that great either.
Trance should have a strong 4/4 kick and a driving bass, but shouldn't rely on it. It's good for energy, but the true musical aspect of trance comes from the melodic sections. That's why so many trance tracks feature melodies which are actually written by professional composers, and produced by the DJ. I can name at least 10 off the top of my head, and those are just the small few which I've actually looked into as far as who was behind the actual track's writing/producing.
Nyctalopia by Andy Blueman is currently my favorite track. Give it a listen, you'll see what I mean.
