What is this?
Team Zenith is hosting the most elite Stick Empires tournament to date. And we're not taking it lightly. A lot of planning is being put forth to make sure this is the finest event run within the SE community. We've done this before, but it's going to the next level starting 2015. I, WyzDM, will be operating this at the head of controls. To ensure the quality remains top priority, I will not be participating, and instead devoting my time to lead the bracket and manage the lievestream. Did I mention livestream? It may not be fancy, but I'm not a complete amateur on twitch, and will be broadcasting the games shortly after they are completed, without spoiling the results. With Tecness2 and Crazy Jay teaming with me to commentate, viewers will share in the experience and witness matches with professional analysis and shared reactions. But why watch? Be you a casual or competitive gamer, we invite anyone with a Stick Empires account to log in and have fun. This is open for any passionate player. Great numbers make for a great time as skills will be tested much further through a larger bracket. Be aware of the rules, be timely, and be ready to play your best!

Game Rules
- All games are best of 3, with the exception of the final rounds (winners, losers, and grand).
- Neutral map list is forest, gates, and ice world. Counterpicks includes desert. Castle, Halloween, Swamp Lands and Grass Hills are all banned and prohibited from use.
- Your first game is played on a neutral map. The player with higher rank points strikes one map before the next player selects from the remaining maps where to go.
- After the first game, the loser has priority to coutnerpick. However, the winner of game one strikes one map before the loser picks the next map. The winner now has the option to change his empire, before the loser may change his empire. For the best of 5 matches in finals, there are no map strikes in counterpicking.
- A player who has lost on a map may not return there unless he's willing (Modified Dave's Stupid Rule).
- Both players may agree on legal map without going through the process of counterpicking (Gentleman's Clause).
- Any game must be decided within 12 minutes. After the game timer hits 12 minutes, the player with tower control wins the game.
- If the opposing player is lagging, and the game is moving abnormally slow to the point where it is uncomfortable, you have the right to request a lag test. A TO will play an up to three minute deathmatch with the player, before making a verdict. If the player is found to not be giving any significant latency, any results from the previous game remain. However, should there be trouble with lag, the TO has the right to DQ on grounds of not being able to support the match at proper gameplay speed.
- Pausing for any reason during a game will result in a forfeit if elected by your opponent. Even if there are technical difficulties, it's up to your opponent to allow that. Plan in advance and test your hardware!
- It is not against the rules to talk to your opponent, but keep it clean. Any vulgar language or obscenities will not be tolerated, and you will be DQ'd. If you wish to avoid any in-game talk at all, use the command in the chat "<>.<>" which will have you send out the period, but make it impossible to send or receive any messages in game. This is allowed because the IRC is the encouraged method to handle communication between players.
- If anything your opponent does is questionable, you may take a snapshot of it to provide proof of any illegal play, and upload it to an image sharing site before addressing it to a TO. Abuse of this system, however, will cause for DQ on holding up the match and attempt at creating injustice.
- Wait for bracket announcements within the IRC channel #SE-Paradise. If you are unfamiliar with what an IRC is, I suggest reading this to help you out.
- During the bracket hours, you are required to remain ready and attentive for when it's your turn to play a tournament match. PLAYING ANY FRIENDLIES OR RANKED GAMES DURING THE TOURNAMENT IS IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION.
- After a match, you are required to save your replay link and provide it somewhere appropriate. More details will be given later. For free players, it is recommended to start a notepad or text file to record your matches, as if the set goes to game 3, you are able to look at your replay history past game 2.

F.A.Q.s
Who are the Tournament Organizers?
IHATETHISNAME, Tecness2, and myself.
Can I sign up even if I'm not sure I can be there?
You really should only sign up when you know you can confirm your attendance 100%, but I won't stop you.
How is this event starting?
Join us in our swiftIRC channel, #se-paradise. Unfamiliar with IRC? You can join using the webbased page, or on our Team Zenith website.
More help on the IRC can be found here.
Can someone else use my account?
If you're going to be a loud mouth about it, my answer is NO. It's not my rules I'm enforcing, but the game's rules. Seriously, was that incident with NrgFA that long ago where no one remembers?
The event is at a bad time for me. Why can't we play matches over the week?
I was hoping I wouldn't have to explain this, but I guess it can't be helped. Every other time (yes, I mean every other time) this was set up, it's failed. Players in opposite timezones will still not be able to compete against each other, as it's just basically a week of "Oh hey I didn't see you." No wonder, you're both sleeping when the other player's awake. And when they finally do get paired if at all, you're delayed the whole progress for everyone. And it's not just one incident, it's gonna happen for everybody. I'm not wasting my time to this "leisure" of playing when you want to. Register, show up, and be there. Maybe next time I can get it on a Saturday. This time, it's on a Sunday. Take time off from school or work if you need to. That's what I'm doing. It's on one day in advance to give time for accommodations. I will not host another day by day event EVER AGAIN. It was so bad I wrote this painfully long paragraph about it. Please don't ask me anymore.
What are exhibition matches?
Matches for fun against certain paired opponents. The results will not affect seeding or result in tournament placing. If you are curious and would like to be included in one, please read this thread and arrange your own exhibition match with another player.
I hope I get to see a great number of you not only sign up, but in the IRC come the day of. This community has a poor history of making a commitment to attend these things. But now there's decent reward in there, so I hope that changes things this time around!
Better start training!
