Hey guys I am new here (as if you couldn,t tell) and I watn to become an animator but have no idea what software to use. I also want to meet new people and make new friends on here. Any posts help. :D

Also for which animating software to use, I would find a free download for Flash 8. If you think you would prefer a different animation system, Maybe try Pivot.

and if u need some weapons/sounds for your project you can look at resources

Welcome to the Stick Page forums where crazy stuff happens oh and if u want to start off animating i suggest you use pivot and then when u think u improved (like 3months of animating and even more MAYBE) then get to flash :D

Hello! So if you want get started as an animator there are many FREE softwares at your disposal and tutorials on youtube depending on your software. Here's a list of some free animations software:

-Pivot and stykz, in these, each frame you move the figures and their differents parts, it's faster to use (from my experience) but is more limited, here's a comparison of Pivot and Stykz: http://www.stykz.net/faq/pivot_comparison.php

-Pencil is a simple traditional animation software where you draw everything frame by frame, it's longer to use, but it gives a nice sketchy look to the animation and you can do fullbody.

-Inkscape is more advanced than pencil, you can see the features here: https://inkscape.org/en/apropos/fonctionnalites/

Finally the software that is often used is Flash (This one is NOT free though), there are many versions of it and they have their pros and cons, but overall Flash is great because you have a lot of options to animate, do effect and it even has a programming langague that can do from a play button to an entire game.
