1.) Start off simple. Don't try to animate complicated figures(Stickfigures included for beginners) as you won't really get a sense of learning. I recommend a ball to start you off.
2.) Now, what to animate? Animate the 12 basic principles of animation.
a.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqGL1ZLk3n8
b.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcryIdriSe4
c.) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/12_basic_principles_of_animation
3.) Next up is getting used to your pen. It's pretty simple though as all you need to do is draw with it everyday. Doodles, sketches, dots, whatever you want. Anything that makes your hand and your pen form a rhythmic connection.
4.) Make a thread and post your progress here! You'll get C&C(Comments & Criticism) from other animators. Don't forget to never move on unless you've mastered the principles too!
5.) Attitude. I cannot stress enough that you need perseverance, imagination, and patience in order to improve your skills in animating. It is a must.
I wish you the best of luck on this! Cheers~

I used to but I forgot about it a long time ago.
If you need help, just make your progress/animation thread. I'll do my best to help you out.

So if one requires assistance/ insight on their animations from more experienced people. they would just make a thread and do daily updates and such?

It's subjective.
If a complete new comer would post a thread and Terkoiz would make a similar thread, it is more likely people will pay more attention to the latter. Your best bet would be to find friends in the forums or in the IRC and ask them for C&C directly.

Internet Relay Chat.
Simply put, it's a place where you can chat with a bunch of people. If you'd like, PM me so I can instruct you on how to set up your IRC so you can meet fellow Stickpage animators/members.
