I'm always open to new music. I listen to every genre. Rap, country, rock, pop, screamo, you name it. As long as it's good, I'm cool with it.

Shoot me some of your favorites. Feel free to explain why you enjoy whatever you listen to as well.

I seem to like a lot of bands that aren't all that popular. No, not in a hipster way.

This song is good, but seeing it alongside the video adds in a nostalgia bonus, which only enhances the overall appeal of the music. Also, cooking implications. >u>

This is another song I enjoy. Yes, it's a Homestuck song. A lot of the tracks in the Homestuck albums are the bee's knees, as well as a lot of the fan music. Something about this tune just makes you wanna get active, see some action. You've got Another Chance to do something, so get off your ass and get it done! That's what this song screams at me, though naturally, it's open to interpretation.

Aside from the cute-enough-to-give-you-diabetes animation, the song is catchy as shit and apparently has some deeper meaning to it (debatable what "lollipop means). Personally, I think it represents the innocence we have, and if you cling too tightly to it, you'll never grow up, and when you have a child-like view of love (AKA fairy tale), then when you find love, it'll just get you down since you had unreal expectations.

I'll list you artists and an album or two with a link and let you decide whatever you want to do.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZwQeZh6rP0
Godspeed You! Black Emperor is an epic, dark post-rock band and is probably the most notable band in the entire post-rock genre. Lots of mostly instrumental music, heavily utilizing strings and guitars, sometimes in very non-traditional ways, and field recordings. They often use long songs which are broken into non-traditional movements. This album is deemed a classic to almost everybody, from Anthony Fantano to the /mu/ board on 4chan. Definitely a must-listen. Most people who have listened to this album have given it a solid 10/10; the lowest rating I've ever heard is an 8. If you enjoy this album, check out their preceding album titled F#A#∞, also receiving huge hype. Their EP, Slow Riot for New Zerø Kanada, has been rated the best EP of all time on the website rateyourmusic.com, so I can definitely say it'd be worth your while to check that EP out.

The Antlers - Hospice
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSi_FE52TAY
Just about everybody has heard about this album if not listened to it. Extremely critically acclaimed, this album destroyed the music world, shooting The Antlers into the public's eye. This concept album's tear-jerking story of a terminally-ill cancer patient and her hospice husband blend perfectly with the band's unique style and Peter Silberman's incredible conveyance of emotion. As cheesy as I sound here, I'm not exaggerating the emotional-impact this can have on you. Powerful stuff. Honestly, this is a very trivial, basic suggestion. Just about everyone's heard about this. If you haven't, I would highly suggest you give it a listen. Great indie rock album, with most notable tracks being Two, Kettering, and Bear (I wouldn't say these are my favorites off the album, but their the most popular to the general audience that listens to this album I can't say the rest of their albums fall on par with this quality, but a completely different style, with a lot more folk influence is present in their preceding EP, In the Attic of the Universe.

Ultra Zook - Epuzz
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUWWX0ylF7-JD2LTGI6eJ1VklJSF51Kly
Fantastic new and refreshing approach to electronic music. With whacky and sporadic breakdowns, Ultra Zook does a great job on this EP of being unique while not having hipster-cacophony-nonsense. They apply their understanding of music well and create unique original sounds with a great blend of synths and guitars and many things to create an overall fun vibe. Definitely would recommend. You don't need to step out of your bubble at all to enjoy this. Would recommend. 9/10 EP imo. I seriously insist that you listen to this. It's not that long so it doesn't take a huge commitment, and is really good.

Animal Collective - Strawberry Jam
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=goOFD04FjGk
From the artists of the critically acclaimed album, Merriweather Post Pavillion, comes this album. Animal Collective is a popular experimental indie-rock band that uses inspirations/facets from just about every genre. You can find different themes and ideas in different albums. Strawberry Jam is most definitely a personal favorite of mine, a solid 10/10 imo. Really great vocals and a really original and unique feeling. Got lots of amazing hype. I'd really also recommend listening to Campfire Songs, another album by them. Campfire Songs is generally unnoticed by Animal Collective fans, not really mentioned much, or given nearly enough attention (at least in my opinion). A really ethereal feel, with a cool gimmick of it all being recorded in one continuous go, with no breaks in between tracks. Also a very strong album.

Thee Oh Sees - The Cool Death of the Island Raiders
you can't find this album on youtube but there is a TORRENT of other means of finding this album, if you catch my drift
Really cool garage-rock/psychedelic-rock/alternative-rock album, with a really original vocal style, with a great blend of a male and female voice. The harmonies create a really cool effect. They don't stray too far instrumentally, following your average band of guitars, drums, vocals and such. However, their creative style of creating an ethereal effect and blending instruments and vocals so well create a very interesting style. Definitely a great album to unwind to. A great follow up album (although VERY inaccessible) is their album, 3 and 4, following a war-like premise. The only way I've heard of people finding the album 3 and 4 is through SoulSeek.

and the entire avenged sevenfold discography is musical gold complete gold i say i think everyone should listen to them jutsu is the greatest jutsu right

I recently bought the Transistor soundtrack. Epic as furk. As for individual songs, the list will comprise of a mix of unce unce electric stuff, funk, several raps with smooth/calming instrumentals, very few rock but they're in there. Mostly upbeat. Note! Several of these songs I have posted before but they have remained on my playlist because I love them too much.
