I went to see The Dark Knight, and a trailer for a movie starring Keannu Reaves where he plays a person claiming to be an alien comes on. At first I'm thinking KPAX. Then they start having buildings and shit being dissentegrated, and I have a horrible thought: Not a death ray.

But then the title comes up.

"The Day The Earth Stood Still"

Yes, a great classic of the sci-fi genre is being remade.

At first i thought "Oh shit, Gort isn't in the film!" because they didn't show him.

Then I checked Wikipedia:

I'm torn between horror (They're remaking a classic) and admiration (he looks faithfully recreated)

Meh.

I'm gonna probably see it in theatres.

Looks tasty.
The best of remakes is taht you can change most of the things you want, if you stay on script. Just looks at Batman! Silky smooth suits to hard Kevlar.

I really wish that this movie will be closer to the story that the original film was based on, Farewell To The Master. It'd be more ominous that way.
