"Resident Evil 5's 2007 E3 trailer sparked controversy with its depiction of a Caucasian protagonist killing hostile African villagers. African American Newsweek editor N'Gai Croal began the criticism by stating, "There was a lot of imagery in that trailer that dovetailed with classic racist imagery." He nonetheless acknowledges that only the preview has been released.[28][29] A second trailer released on May 31, 2008 revealed a more racially diverse group of enemies, as well as a non-Caucasian female character who assists the protagonist. However, Takeuchi denies that complaints about racism had any effect in altering the game design of Resident Evil 5.[30] After the controversy broke, many began saying the accusations were basically crying wolf. The main reason for so many scoffing the criticism was the fact that Resident Evil 4 was set in Spain and the zombies in the game were Spanish, yet there were no complaints of racism for it. The general feeling was that the game was simply in a new, unique location and that doesn't mean there is anything racist about it. Other examples ranged from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas to the film I Am Legend."-Wiki-Pedia.

As it says above. Some people think this game is Racist because it takes place in Africa, and you play as a White man shooting already dead black zombies. I say that alot of the people are over- reacting about this. Click Here to view the trailer.

What do you think?

I bet there's no one claiming a game where there's white zombies and a black dude shooting the crap out of them, shouting "SUCK ON THIS BITCH" is racist. Funny isn't it, how people can overreact to such petty things? It's just a game. If you want to see real racism, try taking a look out of your front door, and concentrate on something more inexcusible than a game where the zombies just so happen to be black for once in the 5 part series.

Is anyone on this forum REALLY going to defend that claim that this game is racist? No.

If there were NO black people in it, it would be racist too.

There's always something to complain about.

Face it, killing black zombies is not racist, some people need to face the fact that just because they have different skin colour to us while we blast the shit out of them does not make it racism, it makes it another enemy to shotgun down.

My point exactly.

But then again, I lead a simple life of zombie blasting, so I dont know if shouting YOU COCK HUNGRY AIDS INFESTED NIGGER to a black zombie is racism, but I won't stop it even if it is.
