Flushing out air from someone isn't the only thing you can do. Remember that Aang could make air blades and that stupid looking air ball he uses to get around. If that ball was enough to support his weight, it's enough to blow open anyone's guts from the inside out. Or tear intestines to shreds. Nobody in their right mind just does this because they aren't the bloody secret police or something.
And if the argument is that you can't manipulate air inside then all you have to do is make a sphere of air surrounding the firebender and the concentrated oxygen deposit instantly burns the firebender out at the mere spark. Once again, going for that stupid-ball-thing principle, we've seen that it is in fact possible.
And lol. Technically anything that isn't fluid or erratic is earth. Cement. Brick. Metal. We've seen the latter done in Korra, we've seen blood bending in the original. It's not all impossible to assume that specializations into the art of bending exist and if any kind of earth exists it can be bent.
A human thinking beyond understanding that could be put together as one?

There are things that earth benders cant bend. Much like platinum, basically metal without the impurities. The only reason why they could bend metal was because of the impurities found in them. Then we get Lavabending which is partially fluid but a branch in earthbending.
Airbending is powerful much like Hewitt said. Firebenders create friction in the air to create fire and airbenders could take away the air, much like a vacuum, to still the bending. If this would be applied on a larger scale then any bender would be dead. Also, airbenders can fly once they attain peace or freedom from material things which makes them a harder target for any other of the three benders.

Or you know, just use a glider. Show off.
But even if certain things can't be earthbended, it's bullshit to say that it sucks in the context that Devour is downplaying.

Each have their own way to fight.
[spoiler=]
[I'm pretty sure if Tenzin wasn't fought 4-on-1 in LoK by the Red Lotus, he could've fought them on the same level on a 1-on-1. He showed right there that Airbenders are capable fighters if it wasn't already established back in Aang's series. ]

i dont know what yorue talking about because i dont watch korra
korra sucks.
yes I do realize the irony. But before you tell me I dont watch shows I don't like, I just want to say that I find any sequel to the original a blasphemy. The series was perfect. they didnt need to cashcow it and turn all their descendents into faggots
korra sucks.

I sort of understand that much but I only referenced it to prove a point. The Red Lotus are a band of benders whose skill in their arts are very much expert. [All four elements are present.] Tenzin [Aang's son] showed that he could've held his own against them but was outmatched simply due to the four of them took him on at once.
tl;dr I don't understand how Airbending is trumped by the rest. I'm pretty sure airbending could just literally liberate the air off your lungs faster than a water bender could stop them from bending or its just a matter of who acts first.

For the sake of friendly discussion (also this topic's pretty interesting) lemmie make a reply.
This is probably totally possible. Like I said, Airbenders would probably beat a regular Firebender any day. Unless that Firebender knew how to channel lightning, then he'd just fight from farther away and zap him before he could get close enough. Because my argument wasn't that Airbending wasn't hella powerful. It's just that it's short ranged compared to the other styles. Range that a Water/Earthbender could instakill someone is far enough that an Airbender probably couldn't do the same to them in time.
By limited, I was talking about the range of the area around them that Earthbenders could work their power. Not any of this, lol. I ain't downplaying anything
Edit:
This method means you have to suffocate before you die. But death by simple crushery (how easy this is was demonstrated when that one Earth master sunk Katara into the ground like it was nothing) or by a frozen brain would just be faster. Not to mention they could do it from farther away than an Airbro could do their trick

Yeah no airbender could defend against lighting.

Devour, it's like you completely forgot about that time Avatar Kioshi was all going hurricane bat shit crazy, or how airbenders can run up to speeds of like 100mph n shit.
I'd much rather be a water bender than anything else, because being a ninja would be hella cool.

So blenders and god like powers. What do you think?
Mar 10, 2015 7:55 PM #1323900
Quote from DevourNah bruh. I'll go a little more in detail if you want.
Airbenders and Firebenders are both the same in that their power works from the area right outside their hands and feet. Earthbenders are a bit limited too but they can still crush a bro no problem. Waterbenders tho, they can freeze water and stuff from a pretty respectable ways away from themselves.
If Airbenders could rip oxygen out of anything that had air molecules in it, that shit would be scary. But as far as I know they can only affect the area immediately around them.
Edit: Also, while I was thinking of that I realized that Airbenders couldn't even beat a skilled Firebender. It's only a few of them mind you, but a master could totally lightning bolt that sucker from really far away. God bless
That's why I said if avatar made any sense. If we take airbender by the literal definition then without doubt an airbender would beat every other bender no contest. Waterbenders can't remove water, thus it'll take longer to freeze it, while airbenders can simply banish the oxygen from their opponent's lungs/blood/brain and instantly kill them (wherever they are as long as they are in contact with oxygen, and if they are not then they'd already be dead..), or increase the amount of CO2 and poison them to such pain that they wont be able to even think straight, much less to fight back. Your statement that earthbenders can crush airbenders lack, you can improve your analysis skills/reflexes by pumping more oxygen into your brain, thus you could easily air jet yourself out of the earth before the fucker can smash you, even better you could stay in the air the whole fight. However, Avatar's powers lack common sense as in every other cartoon and anime thus I'd say that they are arguably the weakest of all benders. But controlling air vectors is pretty scary itself. Supposedly airbenders should be able to create vacuum and stop a lighting, right?

Let me make a challenge out of this. What limits of water and fire blenders would be at their strongest and weakness point when either the sun or moon is up or down (sun during the day and the moon is seen at night)? Would you want to be a fire blender when the sun is up or a water blender when the moon is up?
Mar 10, 2015 8:17 PM #1323909
I would've be an ice ninja. Pretty cool tho. Having an ice blade, shurrikens and ice blizzard !!! Also the coolest thing is to teleport or hide(transform) into snow or etc. Like just someone comes and I'm like - hide !
*evaporate into snow*
NINJAAAAAAAAAA !!!

What is a blender?

That means combining the powers .
