That's sort of an interesting subject.
I understand WHY people commit suicide on a psychological level, but I don't understand it at all on an emotional and logical level.

I know what it's like to feel like you have nothing left, but to make the ultimate waste, to commit suicide, not sure I'm really down with it. How can things possibly get better if you're dead? It seemingly defies instinct. We've evolved to fight and struggle for survival in any situation, I guess during evolution at some point there's been side effects. Maybe I don't understand it because I don't have "it" in me, "it" being whatever it takes to desire suicide.

And this is coming from ME, someone whose struggled with depression their whole life.

But if you commit suicide because someone told you to do so, that's just silly. I'm not sure if I see it as the speakers fault.

I've been suicidal for about 6 years now.
Just last weak, I had someone I've known for 2 years, and thought they were my friend tell me to kill myself.
I'm not dead yet.

It is seen an as easy 'out'. All your problems remain, but you won't be conscious to suffer through it.

Suicidal for 6 years? That seems... long. Have you sought help? Because if you've known that you're suicidal for 6 years and haven't seen a doctor about it, then it is hard to feel any sympathy for you.

Also you need new friends.

Have you attempted suicide at any point? Like legitimately entertained the idea of ceasing life? Because I'm not entirely sure if you know what being suicidal means if you've been "suicidal for 6 years."

Honestly, "suicidal for 6 years" just sounds like you might have manic depression, or mild schizophrenia.

It's all good, man. I feel down a lot, and I think it might be manic depression. It's just that you feel poopy a lot.

I have a counselor and am currently working on my problems, trying to join a few groups so I can get those friends.

As for this, yes. I'm just too much of a coward to go through with it, because I can't deal with any kind of physical pain. There's another reason but, I'd rather keep that one to myself.

bro honestly depression is a catch-22

when you're sad you don't do anything, and when you don't do anything you're sad.

Like, don't even consider hurting yourself because it's a permanent solution to a very temporary problem. Like, think about all the great fucking orgasms and porn you'll miss out on. Like, sit down and literally write down what's bothering you. If it's a person or thing, remove it. If it's a past experience that haunts you, find a way to distract yourself.

If you're in middle school and you're "borderline suicidal" I'm just going to tell you to fuck right off, so don't bother bringing up how old you are.

My thoughts of suicide have never been "I won't feel the pain anymore", I mean, there are times when I hurt of course, no more than others do, yet they persevere so why shouldn't I try to?
But I've always thought that I was nothing but an obstacle to those around me, like I never do anything useful and others would be happier if I were to die. I feel like I deserve to die, because I'm useless.

Also, not in middle school.
I'm setting up classes for college currently.

But this is also all off-topic, and I am tired. I will be going to sleep now, and you guys should go back to the actual thread topic.

To be born human is a privilege. Make use of it. Don't let people around tell you how useless or useful you are. I'm sure college will change a lot of things for you anyway, so you have that to look forward to, as many people did before you, and many people will consider to do so after you.

My heart shed a tear reading that. And my eyes were close to following

On topic, I lean towards the "Privilege" side as free speech is something you aren't easily entitled to.

So you don't support Free Speech for everyone?

Okay, fair point. I don't have the right judgement to pick a side with conviction but I just think that free speech should be used tastefully, that's all.

But then it wouldn't be 'free' speech at all, would it? Who gets to draw the line at taste?
