Edit: New demo up with some fixes.

This is something I did about a month or two ago...

...you can't play it yet, but you can watch one of the cinematic.

Made with RPGmaker VX. If people are interested, maybe I'll keep working on it.

Got a demo, it's a pretty big file, my apologies.

Update: August 03
Double Post, don't shoot me. This doubles as a bump.

I've gotten much more progress on the second chapter done... and I think it will prove to really get the ball rolling in terms of game play. A lot of new elements are introduced, and the game is starting to get really versatile and challenging. What I find fun at this point is the fact that Prometheus has so many different ways to go about defeating an enemy. The strategy is really up to you.

Here are some screen shots of the next "Sector"
Image
This is an overview of the primary "village" with little windows that show that it is floating in the sky. It's considerably larger than the first chapter's

Image
There will be some new gladiators introduced...

..and not to mention some old ones.

Also there are a lot of really cool concepts that may come into play later on in the game.

Image
The game is definitely going to loosen up from what you saw in the first chapter. Especially with the advent of "Soul Candy", which is basically what you are going to use to add attributes to your character, as well as shields and other goodies.

I've also corrected spelling errors in the first act as well as simplified some things and made other things more clear.

Let me know what you guys think.

Aye, the only problem right now is it's too damn hard, and I'm having a hard time balancing it.

RPG Maker gets complicated sometimes. I experiment with different events at times like these.

Now I want RPG Maker back :[

Works for me.

Really good game, just a tad slow in the cutscenes where he walks and stuff.

Nice job bud, hope you finish.

Thanks, the conclusion Raffi and myself have come with is that it doesn't seem to work with Vista... not sure why.

Might be a compatibility with VX all together.

edit: yeah deathwish I was kinda wondering whether or not it was too much story/cutscene/stuff to start out with, and the walk speed too... but.. keep comments coming, it will help the creative proccess.

I'm actually working on the second "Chapter" now... the game is going to go from relatively hard to ridiculously hard very soon.

Good luck o.O

What is the back button?

Like I'm in the store and enter/space buys things but how do I back out from the buy menu?

Also, one of the chefs says "where" instead of "we're"

That would be "X"

Thanks for the correction, if you find them, always let me know, it's direly important!

I havent played it, but I checked the video out, it looks amazing man. I really got into it. Ill download it tomorrow and give it a go though. The only thing id say would be to maybe have an idle animation for characters as they all seem to be doing a lot of running on the spot.. other than that, It looks good enough to be on gameboy.

No dice, I won't take credit for the graphics either. That's the RPGmaker VX default tileset, nothing was customarily done, only the layouts.

Secondly, I did not mention this earlier but my original goal was to make a really good rpg using only the default tilesets and altering as little as possible to create either the most badass demo ever or to show the power of the program without raping it with my own sources. Keep that in mind.
