Hello all, Azure Kite here! As many of you may (or may not) know, I'm a chef-in-training, currently attending a culinary school. Often, I talk about food, and have discussions about food, and think about food. So it occurred to me that there wasn't really a central food topic/discussion going on around here. Well, this is it! This thread will be dedicated to talking about food and beverages, with a focus on providing original recipes. If you have a recipe, post it in thread and I'll put it in the OP. So let's talk food!

When providing a recipe, do be sure to give ingredients as well as directions. All recipes added will be credited to the poster. Also, please only post original recipes, not ones you found or are part of your place of business. Beverages may be alcoholic or nonalcoholic (please note which it is).

Why don't you post a recipe to start it off Azure, I'm sure not a lot of the people here are the kinds of chefs that write down recipes
besides like Exilement and a few choice other members

I have no idea if this is a legit recipe but I'll post it here anyway:

Milk and Sugar Rice (Unofficial)

Milk powder
Sugar
Rice

1.Place scoopfuls of rice in a plate, as much as you can eat.
2.Grab the milk powder and sugar and place 2-3 spoonfuls on the rice for each.
3.Mix it all together and your done.

This is actually my "To go food" in childhood. This is really sweet so it's kinda like a dessert but it can fill a person if you eat this in a large amount. Did that once and had a stomach ache for the next few hours.

I wish I haven't posted this but oh well it's still sweet

Just wait till you see my next original recipe.

~Yellow Potato~

Ingredients:
1. Original flavoured chips.
2. Banana.

Method: Warning, requires excellent timing.
1. Peel banana and open chip bag.
2. Bite a bite sized piece of a banana and in quick succession introduce a suitible number of chips.
3. Alternatively you can introduce the chips first followed by the banana.

Disgusting but I actually don't mind it.

I can give you guys some traditional Bulgarian recipes (I doubt you know any). I am pretty proud with our food to be honest.

Unfortunately, I don't have any original recipes to offer you.

If that's what I think it is, it's a pretty common food in Hispanic countries. It's a weird recipe but, makes for a cheap dessert.

I don't know about using powdered milk though, that's just off the hook.

Wanted to let others give some recipes before I started up (because, ya know, culinary school):

Azure's Fancy Chicken Breast Surprise:

-Boneless Chicken Breast (4-6 oz)
-Sweet Chili Sauce (2 Tbsp)
-Honey (1 Tbsp)
-Salt (to taste)
-Pepper (to taste)
-Thyme (just a pinch)
-Rosemary (just a pinch)
-Garlic (fresh minced would be best, but its fine using garlic powder)
-Lemon Juice (just a few drops)
-Parmesan Cheese (shredded or flakes; this is an optional ingredient)
-Parchment Paper

1. Preheat your oven to 450.
2. Get all the sauces, herbs, and spices together in a bowl, and stir them up well. Keep the lemon juice, parmesan cheese, and chicken breast to the side (keep the chicken breast refrigerated if possible).
3. Once the steps above are completed, cut a large heart out from your parchment paper.
4. Place your chicken into the sauce, and make sure there's good coverage. Place the breast on the large part of the heart, then cover it with a bit more sauce, as well as pour the lemon juice very carefully over it.
5. Sprinkle the cheese over the top of the chicken until it is evenly coated, then wrap the parchment paper up, and place it in the oven.
6. Cook for 25-30 min, or until done, and be sure to check that there is no pinkness (undercooked chicken is very dangerous, ya know?).
7. Enjoy.

Azure's Black and White Bomber (Alcoholic Beverage)
-Vodka (1.5 oz)
-Dark Rum (1.5 oz)
-Sprite (4 oz, can be replaced with any light soda)
-Lemon (for the juice and garnish)
-Sugar
-Ice

1. Ice your glass.
2. Pour in your vodka, careful to keep an eye on the amount.
3. Pour in your rum, again, keeping an eye on the amount.
4. Pour in Sprite, or whatever light soda you decide to use.
5. Cut a slice of lemon, and squeeze a few drops of juice around the top of the drink.
6. Covering one side in sugar, rim the glass with the lemon, then leave it on to garnish.
7. Enjoy, and drink responsibly.

Looks like. I had no idea it was called a pudding in English, that's funny.

So in class today, we had extra time, so I decided to make an original sauce. I decided on a citrus sauce because I wanted try my hand at making something tangy. Due to unforeseen circumstances, my sauce became a glaze. Now, this initially bummed me out, but after tasting it, I was amazed at the kick it had, and the texture was akin to that of a glaze (pronounced gloss). I'm planning to use it to make some citrus cheesecake, and have been told it would go equally well with duck.

So, does anyone want the recipe? It's relatively simple to make, and it's quite good. It does have a kick to it though, and it's primarily for dessert uses or duck and other gamey meats. Here's a picture:
