Lol. We have a ton of percussion this year. Five basses, five snares, four tenors, and three cymbals.

Lolfaggot. What kind of competitions do you do? And where do you live?
Last year, we placed... Crap, I don't remember. Either 6th, 7th, or 8th at OBA.

We don't do competitions really. We are a really small town. However we are going to play at the Gator Bowl this year. So you should watch for the Bryan High School Marching Band during half time.

Hey Face Plate, I play French horn too! :D
You were first chair in region, right? (I think I saw you post that in at least one other thread) So was I! XD But instead of playing horn in region orchestra, I played cello. Stupid parents force me to play it. It makes me resent them... Sigh... But I won't get into that. It makes me all emotional and crap. Anyway...
Since I'm a fish, I have no clue what the mellophone fingerings are... Are they the same as the trumpets? I was fiddling around with mine and trying to play a scale, but I failed horribly.

No, I went for All-State but didn't make it. Shit was hard, lol.
I beat ass at mellophone though. Yes, mellophone fingerings are exactly the same as trumpets.

I played at an OSU vs. some shitty Arkansas college game. Didn't get televised though :\

In case you guys hadn't noticed, I'm back
It was kind of fun, I guess. We marched for about 4 hours a day, played music for another 4. That was on the first two days, and on the last we did both at the same time for 3 hours. I play the trumpet in band and I'm pretty much the only competent trumpeter in terms of playing and marching in step.
There was a pool, lounge, lake and a few other things to do, but not much. The lounge sucked and on the last day we had a "party" where we had some 40 year old DJ play extremely generic dance music they'd play at elementary school dances. He played Pink Floyd along with it, though, so I'm pretty sure he had no clue what he was doing.
I have to march again tomorrow for a parade at 11 in the morning, which I'm not looking forward to at all.

I have summer band starting tomorrow. I graduated fish camp, lol. We learned how to take a step in the "straight leg" march. That's about it. No, wait. We learned how to take TWO steps!! :D Omg I feel so accomplished!!! /sarcasm
Oh yeah and I got heat stroke the first day. But only a little bit and luckily it went away. I'm not looking forward to summer band... Especially since the seniors in the french horn section told me I will have no social group outside of them... Not looking forward to highschool...

Don't let them intimidate you. It is all talk.

They weren't being mean, they were just talking from experience. The seniors are actually pretty nice.
