I find half the time I play this terrible game all I do right from the start is spam swordsman and mash the attack arrow and most of the time I win. I usually start attacking their miners and when they retaliate with a swordsman they see two more coming from my end. Then they usually just quit the game and I win.

Well guess what, not everyone is 1300 like you. Don't whine if you're playing players who don't even know how to macro.

as you get a higher grade you will find that you need more advanced tactics we were all 1000 at one point and I will happily offer you as much advice as you need just personal message me.
In my opinion if that is winning you games and your enemies don't counter that by lets say attacking your swords or getting better units then why change a winning tatic if its getting you the win.
again any questions please ask me as i have gone through the stages you are talking about i can offer you my advice.
You can only get better

We were all 1200 at one point. We didn't all drop 200 elo from our starting elo when we played.
It's nit pick though and I don't want to detract from your comment.

I got it wrong we start at 1200 but it was so long ago I forgot
I didn't drop 200 point i won my first 10 games and I quickly got to 1600 where I have been stuck for the last couple of months
I am a lot better than you think

1600 is a lot better than we think right
And change a winning tactic because 1) it isn't efficient 2) it's abusable as hell

In my opinion you shouldn't be focusing on why you are winning games, but why you are losing them.

Well the game at first sight doesn't seem to appear to have any effective strategy past spamming swordsman. And the only time I lose is if the opponent is smart and already can defend against them via swordsman, archer, or castle archer. Then I usually quit the game as soon as I see it and try to quit before the mark when it is counted. Maybe I'm looking for a good strategy to overwhelm the opponent as quickly as possible because I can't bear playing this God awful game for more than five minutes per match.

bro. i told you. come to irc and hit me up, or dragonarcherz 350. let's show you how bad you are if you want to trashtalk here.
i'd use words and logic to persuade you, but it's much easier to demolish your ego and play.

I disagree.
Won games can be won by sheer luck sometimes, and if you find a winning tactic that no one knows how to counter then I'd say go for it. Best way to find out how to counter something is to play it till someone counters you.

Have to have game understanding to understand how to innovate and change the way you play. Figure out why you're losing, not winning.

Well duh?
If you try a tactic that is beating you eventually you'll find someone else counter it and then you learn. If you try a tactic that seems to work and you can't come up with counters yourself, then try it till someone counters it and shows you. Figuring out why you're losing and why you're winning are two sides of the same coin.
