Gasoline and nail-polish is always pleasant to me, but my favourite is the guilty pleasure of permanent markers.

I don't think smelling gasoline is healthy. Doesn't that have a ton of free radicals in it which could potentially cause cancer?

It contains benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes which are harmful if inhaled but there's nothing to prove a link between cancer and low-level exposure to gasoline fumes.

Not too weird but I really like the smell of rice vinegar when I'm cooking with it.

Yeah I was mostly worried about this post specifically

Ditto. Sometimes when I'm at the pump I just sniff the Gas hose for a bit before filling up the car

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benzene#Health_effects

"The American Petroleum Institute (API) stated in 1948 that "it is generally considered that the only absolutely safe concentration for benzene is zero."[55] The US Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) classifies benzene as a human carcinogen. Long-term exposure to excessive levels of benzene in the air causes leukemia, a potentially fatal cancer of the blood-forming organs, in susceptible individuals. In particular, Acute myeloid leukemia or acute nonlymphocytic leukemia (AML & ANLL) is not disputed to be caused by benzene.[56] IARC rated benzene as "known to be carcinogenic to humans" (Group 1)"

Yeah smelling it at the gas station probably won't hurt you, but spending a bit of a while sniffing it through the hose seems risky to me.

Febreez needs a line of odd smells people love.

"second hand smoke delight" or "gasoline goodness" would be something I would buy on the regular.

I just know how to google "is inhaling gasoline fumes harmful" and then parse information. Something many, many people here seem to forget they can do before asking simple questions around here.

With recent gasoline prices this statement actually holds true.

So there are others who enjoy the smell of gasoline.
Now I know I'm not alone.
A few others: Old books, newspapers, markers, that smell when it rains
Also any smell that originates from my own body.
