Well, there's a possibility that he can only get faster if he has the smaller sword unsheathed. it makes sense, he lugs around a big ass sword and it weighs him down, but when the big part comes off... yeah. i dunnnooo

Speed isn't the unwill to animate, it adds more to the character depending on the animator. For example, The Flash is a superhero whos only power is super speed. That doesn't make him any less of a hero, the way they execute is what makes him a great hero. My RHG is completely based around his speed to complicate battles, could you imagine a fight between someone who is too fast to keep up with? It adds a struggle to the opponent, you have to think more creatively before simply say that speed is for the lazy. Also i could name like 50 RHG's who don't have it, i don't think you've even gone through the RHG list.

Yes, the flash has speed. How many other characters in that universe has that power? Nothing compared to the large majority here.

My problem is that people have a character and just tack speed on. Sure, there are those who use speed well but there are many who just want to add some motion blur to their character and have them fly from area to area.

I understand that, but it's not all characters. But then also, speed is supposed to be hard to see. So zipping around isn't a bad thing. When the flash runs by someone, you don't see him, just a gust of wind. Yes some use it lazily, but you're not going to see someone if they zip by with super speed.

Most of these people who "tack" speed on their RHGs don't mean super speed like Flashes speed, they mean it more like super human speed which is Usain Bolt like speed ;)
