e, leaving everything else about himself standard levels. Also, Lien needs to actively concentrate on what he will boost. So telepathic attacks, or attacks that don’t give him time to think will cripple him.

While Lien can keep his body boosted for however long he wants so long as he can keep focusing on what he wants boosted, he can only use Aspect Booster 3 times in before he enters a waiting periodsuccession. If he attempts to use it once more without giving himself time to rest*, he not only temporarily loses his ability to use Aspect Booster, but also the body part that was last boosted.
*Resting means to be in a state where he does not have Aspect Booster activated.

Aside from his Aspect Booster, Lien has no real means of attack. Also, because of his lack of formal training, Lien’s means of attacks are straightforward and easily stopped if the defender has proper knowledge and reflexes.

Lien has no formal training, and as such is reliant on basic attacking combos, blocks and dodges. Again, all of which can be easily countered by a trained opponent.

While Lien can prepare himself for ambushes by increasing his perception, he cannot boost his mental capabilities and is easy caught off-guard by strategies that cannot be overcome by dodging or blocking.

ome orphanage in a small basket. My parents were probably too poor to take care of me, so they handed me off for a chance at a better life. Not that I necessarily blame them; without that, I wouldn’t have been able to become the person I am today.

My next sets of memories were of me doing basic things a normal child would do growing up. Playing with friends, studying, eating, sleeping, having fun, I’m actually pretty glad that I got to grow up like that at all considering the things that were happening right under our very noses…

…I was completely oblivious to the hidden activities occurring under my very nose. The orphanage was just a front, using the guise as a means of obtaining test subjects in order to work towards the goal of creating a super soldier. Of course, even if it was a guise, the orphanage was still a legitimate building with legitimate workers who were completely oblivious to what they were helping. But occasionally, every child at the orphanage had to take some sort of injection. We were told at the time that they were simple vaccinations and we should be grateful for even having the opportunity to receive anti-bodies and the such. Of course, they were actually injecting us with various chemicals that while made no outward effects on our bodies, but rather put created a dormant ability within us, with each consecutive injection increasing the ability’s percentage for a successful awakening. Of course, I wouldn’t learn about this until much later.

One of my more recent memories was when I turned 18. There were a total of 4 people that also turned 18 that year in our orphanage. It’s a pity that I can’t seem to recall who they were or what their names were anymore, but at the very least I remember that I was the last one to become 18. This was probably for the best, because we were unknowingly given up until that day to have the last of our fun; because after that day, everything would be turned into utter chaos. We were told by some workers that we had never seen before that we were going to be given our place in society; that we were all adults now and that we needed to show our worth if we ever wanted to get anywhere in life. Of course, we had all heard this speech multiple times during our childhood, and even seen the older kids leave, so we all nodded out heads and prepared to bid farewell to our friends and home.

Everything was fine and dandy up until the point where the new workers told us that they were going to drive us to another destination, so that we could apply for jobs and whatnot. We would still have to wait a bit before obtaining our freedom, but whatever, it would only take a bit, according to the workers. I didn’t know where we were headed, but I, along with the others realised that we were not going to the job applications. However, the moment we realised that, I felt numb as my consciousness suddenly drifted away.

Now, for my final memory until everything is up to date, is the most terrible one I have yet to face. When we all woke up, we were in a spacious, white room with a metal door; like one of those rooms where you would put insane people in with straitjackets in. Only instead of straitjackets, we all wore this strange collar on our necks. With confusion fresh in our minds, a speaker lodged into the roof of the room suddenly turned on, with the voice of a chipper man coming through. However chipper he had appeared though, what he told us changed our lives from then on out.

“ *Ahem* Hello there, children, or should I say young adults? Ah it doesn’t really matter Now, what I am about to tell you may shock you, but please listen carefully and with absolute attention. Because if you don’t… the consequences may be severe, but don’t worry, I won’t do anything to you. That much I can at least promise. However, I won’t be doing anything to help you either. Now, what I want for each of you to do is to- “

“Let us out of here you freak! If you don’t, I’ll call the cops on you!” One of the others shouted. Although I can’t remember who, I can remember that they would be the first to die. Pity really, they had a strong ability. Maybe even the strongest out of all of us, but that I wouldn’t know until far later on.

“Ah, a troublemaker have we? Well, I’m sorry to inform, but such delinquents will have to be dealt with.” And with that, our numbers decreased to 3. A single bullet to the skull is all that it takes to kill a normal person, and that’s what happened. A loud bang, a soft thud, and a prolonged silence was all that was needed to tell us what was happening. Although, I was a bit curious at the time as to where the bullet had come from, but before I had any time to think about it, the chipper voice reappeared.

“Hahahaha! Did you see the way her face looked? Oh wait, she doesn’t have one anymore!” It sadistically mocked us. What was previously a happy and upbeat voice suddenly took a psychotic, dark tone.

“Ahhhh, see what happens when you go against your parent? It’s such a shame, but I can’t let such a rotten personality grow up and potentially put dirt to my good name now, can I?” The voice returned back to its previous tone, almost as if it never even spoke the other sentence.

“WHAT THE HELL, YOU MANIAC? WHY DID YOU JUST KILL HER? WE JUST WANT TO GET OUT! LET US OUT OF HERE!” Another voice came resonating from behind me. However, this time, the voice didn’t reply. Just another bang and another thud. I don’t remember much of that person either. But my memory off the past just isn’t what it used to be. So I guess I’ll just leave it at that. By now, the last person and I learnt to keep our mouths shut, for our own sake.

“Good, now. Is that all of the delinquents that I have to deal with today, or do I need another example? No? Good. Now, I know what you’re thinking ‘oh if the crazy scientist needed us so badly, why did he just up and kill 50% of his potential test subjects?’ BECAUSE I CAN YOU F***ING MORONS. DID YOU THINK THAT I NEEDED YOU? THERE ARE OTHER KIDS OUT THERE THAT TOOK THE INJECTIONS, DON’T THINK THAT YOU’RE SPECIAL OR ANYTHING JUST BECAUSE YOU ALSO HAVE SOME ABILITIES INJECTED INTO YOUR BODIES. WE COULD JUST PICK UP ANOTHER BATCH OF KIDS. WE DON’T HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL YOU’RE 18, BUT YOU CAN THANK US FOR THAT KINDNESS. WE LET YOU HAVE A HAPPY CHILDHOOD AND THIS IS HOW YOU REPAY US? BY GROWING UP TO BE DELINQUENTS? YEAH THAT RIGHT, WE RUN THAT ORPHANAGE. DID YOU THINK THAT YOU’LL BE SEEN AS MISSING PEOPLE? THAT THE POLICE WILL SHOW UP AND SAVE YOU? WELL GUESS WHAT? NOBODY PROBABLY EVEN REMEMBERS YOU! ALL THE WORKERS THERE HAVE ALREADY FORGOTTEN ABOUT YOU LOT AND MOVED ONTO THE OTHER CHILDREN THERE! HAHAHA! AND I’LL HAVE YOU KNOW THAT-wait… what was that? I forgot to mention that? Oh yeah! Heh heh, silly me.”

The voice changed back and forth from megalomanical, to upbeat and so forth. I wasn’t sure if it was fear or straight up disbelief of the situation that kept me calm, but I stood there, staring at the speaker while my last remaining friend whimpered in the corner. She would be the only one I remembered, for one particular reason that I won’t go into further detail for now. But she-but Erika, would become a very large hurdle for me to overcome in the future

“Ah, okay, so mayyyybe I forgot to mention your abilities. Do you remember all those injections that you got every now and then? Basically, you were injected with lets just say, chemicals, that changed the way your body works! Although that all lay dormant, until today! We’re going to be doing a whole lot more injecting and the like, but this time, you’ll be given special powers! Oh boy, I can’t wait to see what happens with this batch of young adults! We’ve experimented with various other people, and you’re just another step in our plan in creating the ultimate super soldier! But you don’t need to worry about that. I really do wonder how far you will both make it as opposed to the others. Oh well, I guess only time will tell. Oh! And one last thing before I leave, you know those collars around your necks? Think of those as guns. They’re not actual guns, but when I press the button, they send a bullet straight through your head! So, yeah you brats better not disobey me. Well, have fun! Bye~”

This time, the speaker went off for good. Then, the doors opened and a whole team of people came in. I forgot how I reacted at that time, or what happened afterwards, or anything after that, or even after that; I was told that it must have been some sort of side-effect from the constant tests and experiments and that I shouldn’t worry too much about it.

Then, one year later fast-forward to a few minutes ago. I was told by the workers, that the experiments were complete and both of Erika and I had miraculously survived all the way through. While the voice had stated that many other people were injected with abilities, waking the abilities and making them active was the part that killed a majority of the test subjects, so I guess that was why the voice had been so trigger-happy that day, there was a miniscule percent chance for any of us giving any useful data, let alone making it all the way through. I was also told that because of Erika and I, they had made huge amounts of progress in their research, which, for what it’s worth, is good? But anyways, both of us were taken to another large room and given a letter to read.

“Hey there, my young, budding adults! How are you doing? Well, I’ll be a monkey’s uncle! I never actually expected either of you to be able to survive taking on so many experiments like that! So, how do you feel? Enlightened? HAHA! But anyways, by now your abilities should be active and ready for action! Well, sadly, we only need one of you. And as much as it pains me to say, one of you needs to be eliminated. But, on the bright side, you get to decide which one! If you still don’t understand, then I’ll just have to spell it out for you. You WILL fight to the death. Only one of you can make it out alive. Will it be you?”

From, your loving, doting parent.

With that, I looked at Erika. Unlike me, who had memory loss act as a shield to the torture and pain, she took the full brunt of the experiments head on. I can’t remember what she was like one year ago, but I can remember at the very least, she was nothing like the person I am currently looking at.

With this, I have finally caught up to all of my memories.

al about his outer appearances. He remains calm and collected while in combat, however it is unknown as to whether this is his true personality, or one he created. Not even he remembers how he used to be. This ‘detachment’, from the world seems to have been created out of a need to defend his psyche from the torture that he went through. However, this detachment also makes him a lot less cautious. He no longer thinks for himself, and completely follows the orders given to him. However, he could also be simply biding his time until he is free, from there, anything goes.

Fighting Style
In battle, Lien generally uses a hit-and-run tactic where he rushes in to finish off his opponent as fast as possible. Preferring to use one large attack to incapacitate his opponent and then observing its effects over using a flurry of small attacks.

er, he noticed that all of the workers had left the room. The only person left inside was Erika, and himself. After a moment of silence, Erika suddenly raised her hands forward and faced her palms towards him.

Watching curiously, Lien was about to call out and ask what she was doing before something came flying past his face. Lien didn’t even realise what had happened to him until blood began dripping down the side of his face.

“Humph, it appears that I missed. I suppose that I’ll just have to get used to this power” Erika stated coldly, shaking her hands off as she quickly reverted to her previous stance, ready to continue firing whatever it was she had just shot.

“Wait! I’m not even sure of what’s going on right now! Why are you so easily accepting of this situation!?” Lien called out; however, his questions had only to fallen onto deaf ears as Erika began an onslaught of icicles, with each flying towards Lien at dangerously high speeds.

This time however, Lien prepared himself, and dodged her mysterious attack by diving to side. The attacks continued as Lien ran around the room, attempting to find some area to hide behind. However, the room was void of anything side from the two people, and the according to the note, the only way out was to murder the other person!?

“What the hell is going on right now? Since when were we informed of these powers!?” Lien shouted as he cont

Cool wRHG you got going here buddy. I like the concept and the character seems pretty balanced, so I wish you luck in your future fights, and of course fun writing them ^^.

Speaking of which, I might be available again rather soon-ish. I still have a few battles planned out with some other folks, but expect a challenge from me sooner or later >;3
