I'm somewhat unsure if I need to take this elsewhere since this isn't a technical issue, but here we go...

My predicament is that I'm too poor to afford Flash, I understand there's no legal free version, but even with the demo I have trouble wrapping my head around some things about it(Also I'm afraid that I downloaded the wrong thing entirely, currently using "Flash Professional CC and Mobile Device Packaging").

I am also somewhat afraid to use Pivot, since it appears to be highly frowned upon and, despite never animating before in my life, want to be taken at least a little bit seriously as a newbie. Pivot just seems to be the entirely wrong way to go.

I am also aware of Easytoon but, again, all sources seem to say that Flash is the best option. I don't know if I'm just dreaming of ending up on Stickpage or being respected by the big animators out there or something, but I need other people's opinions on what I should do.

Don't really take all the insulting of pivot seriously, it really is a decent software for beginners. People have busted out some really nice things with it, even if it is harder to do so than with Flash. Easytoon is fairly good, too, if just want to do some simple stuff. If you are really sure that you want to get serious about animation, though, the best choice would be to invest in Flash (you might have to save up for quite a while depending on your financial situation). I'm pretty sure everyone gets confused by its complexity at first, but you'll get used to it.

Flash is the easiest and the best. It has a Vcam and just draw things to your heart's content.
Pivot is not really for beginners because it's too complicated. You need to be pro at it to make a presentable animation. While in flash, just draw sticks kicking with lazy smokes and thar you go :>

Flash is harder for me because i dont like things that have many options and bars and other features.I just like the normal simple and easy classic pivot

this is ass backwards.

If you've never animated, start with pivot until you figure out how to obtain flash. Pivot is extremely easy to get used too where flash takes a lot more time and requires you to learn a whole lot more.
