Effective immediately I'm reversing the previous policy this section had of moving "stick art" into it's own thread. I do not believe that such artwork should be criticized or segregated just by virtue of being stick figure on a website that's specifically geared towards stick figures. The same principles apply here as they do with the rest of the forum: the community should decide what is and isn't popular by their posting habits. If you do not like something, ignore it and it will go away. We shouldn't have a system designed to favour or highlight one form of art over another. Our mods should not be playing creativity police or telling you that your work isn't worth anything if you don't draw like they do.
Additionally I have unstickied Scarecrow's rant thread as I do not believe a thread with that tone should be promoted around here. The overall message that thread is attempting to get across is a valid one: we should definitely have standards and be honest and open about artwork. However the thread reads more like elitist and condescending ramblings than an effective vehicle for the message. No one should be telling you that your work isn't art because it has stick figures in it. StickPage is supposed to be a positive environment, that's part of what made Fluidanims so popular. I do not feel that this section is promoting the values StickPage intends to hold, and I hope to begin correcting that with these changes. Non-stick artists who are upset at this decision are welcome to join a non-stick community where they wont have to worry about it. Feel free to discuss this in the StickPage Related Discussion thread.
