Can someone explain what spells like poison spray, hell fists etc. do? For example, why do you have to aim it at an angle? I'd just like to know exactly how it works.

They have a hitbox that goes out in a line from where they're cast. Aiming at an angle makes them more able to hit more stuff because they move over the y and x axis instead of just over the x axis.

Maybe?

I'm not that sure if it makes them properly able to hit more space of the map, but it makes them hitting more units in a battle easier.
