Welcome to June everybody! This means the second tournament brought to you by myself (Spino for the uninitiated). This year I'd like to push our participant totals as far up as I can as I am going for a solid 26+ participants. 32 would be a nice Tournament number. Anyway, how about some details!
Structure
- Due to last years surprise mofo 1 game start (which included some upsets) I am going with a less surprise Best of 3 which means if a lag spike or other thing ruins a very good players game, the opponent will have to pull off a win twice.
- Finals (and semi-finals) will be Beset of 5.
- It will be seeded, either on rating or on how I (and others I will fine to assist in setup) feel about their play if they do not rank much.
- Empire may be changed in between sets or once during a Bo5. (Random is allowed)
- Desert, Forest, Ice World, Gates and Swamp are the only maps allowed. Maps will be chosen by:
Game One - Consensus: the two players agree on a map
Game Two - Loser picks map
Game Three - (If Necessary) Desert.
- It is now Double Elimination. No longer subject to change.
- Myself and possibly another human entity will record (most) matches and they will be uploaded to YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdWy8-76-nsro9cGwOQdw2A - It is possible that the Semifinals and Finals will be Live Streamed.
Rules
- Time Sets are to be determined (Will be something like Round 1 - 4 days, round two 4 days, round three 2 days, semifinal - finals one day). The goal is to have the tourney complete in 2 weeks. It is expected that you are complete with your matches in the time limit, the lesser active will receive the loss (Time Zones will have to be resolved prior to matches being played).
- Games must not be over 12 minutes long - winner determained by tower or map control. If it happens and you do not notice in game, then do not make a scene about it afterwards (assuming you notice and realize you should have one). The game counts as stands unless it is resolved in game (after 12 minutes point) or immediately after the game.
- Messages in game are to be kept to a minimum. We will use the Team Zenith IRC at #team-zenith.
- One is not allowed to exploit a glitch or bug in the game. Since some do randomly occur, The one who benefits from it must stop the bug from occurring ASAP as they can ruin games of any players.
- Replays must be kept on record via replay thread (coming soon) or pastebin.
- Keep your cool. The goal is to have fun and play with skilled players, rage could result in disqualification.
- Sharing accounts isn't allowed. It is preferable the one uses their main, ranking account for the tourney.
- Returning to a map in a Best of 3 set is not allowed, but in a best of 5 you can play on a map twice.
Failure to read the thread (with obvious rule breaking) will result in disqualification
