Seriously though, this is a very strategic card game that needs to gain more popularity. I bet i'm the only(or at least one of the few) that play MTG. I NEED TO SPREAD THE WORD! What are your thoughts community?

As soon as the world is dominated by shit even less interesting than MTG.

MTG is actually really popular, you just need to find game stores
Shit, I played it in highschool, but I stopped because it's just too much to keep track of now

I've played tons of mtg.
Let me throw in my two cents as to why it isn't more popular.
Not easy to learn
Not poor people friendly: winners have expensive cards, usually 20 dollars plus per card.
Not poor people friendly again: Even if you pay up and get a good deck, it'll be unusable in the most popular format quickly.
Not poor people friendly continued: Even if you enter new block draft tournaments, you still have to pay quite a bit just to participate.
Not poor people friendly still: Even if you buy a decent cheap deck of cards, you'll inevitably get curb stomped by someone that has an expensive deck.
If you look at most extremely popular things, they're accessible and understandable by most people. Like league of legends.

MTG does a decent job at fighting power creep in cards, but it's still an issue
My old 2006 deck is completely useless now
Like, my Dark Banishing is a 3 mana-ish insta-kill no revive on anything that isn't black
but now it's worthless because there's counters to that

Dark banishing was the shiznit for budget decks.
If you want to go a bit more expensive though, unmake is even better.

I feel like MTG is something you have to get into early on. Firstly, you had a drive to learn the game because you wanted to fit in with your peers. Secondly, the nostalgia value can continue to drive your interest in the game. Thirdly, you have a base knowledge already and have a general idea of what it is good and bad and therefore can be more conservative with your money. I had a period where I wanted to get into Magic because I heard it was the "big boy" version of Yugioh, but it just seemed all to daunting that I just gave up and my money was already burning at that point.

Thats the joy of mtg.
That or the fact that i spend around 2 thousand bucks on it in a time frame of 2 years to then leave forever and have the cards occupy space in my closet while nobody will buy them
*cries in corner*

yeah that's another thing, the new cards shit on the old cards in a futile attempt to keep the game interesting.
It's the same pitfall of pokemon TCG.
