I think you're talking about Disney versions of Greek Heroes and not Greek Heroes themselves.

Pretty sure Heracles was made into a god after he was covered in poison, built his own funeral pyre, and climbed into it. Maybe I'm mistaken. If Disney did that, then they've gotten a lot edgier. Almost back at their Hunchback of Notre Dame times, when you could still show prejudice and hate in children's movies.

But were YOU deified through nature or nurture? Did you march defiantly towards the Gods above you and demand a seat in their pantheon? Or did it simply fall on your lap because nature boohoo?

I'm all natural, baby.

Lol sorry I switched them around guys

Azure, you mod this section right? Maybe you can switch the nature nurture around when you edit my poll. I mean the score is tied anyway so what diff does it make

Nurture.

I've seen far too many people with raw talent unable to keep up because they don't put in the work necessary to succeed and nurture their abilities. I've yet to see any sort of skill that this doesn't apply to.

On the other hand, I've seen many people with very little inherent ability and plenty of work ethic manage to keep up with the best of them.

I wanted you to name Heracles so I could point out that he only got to do all those badass things because he was the son of Zeus, not by 'working hard and being badass'. Any equally badass human Greek warrior trying to do the same would have died instantly.

Psyche also became a goddess, because she was just that fucking beautiful. And demigods were still mortal, never specified 100% human.

So that I add to the discussion, I'm honestly split in my decision. Some skills have been nurture, some have been nature. If I go by most recent, I have to go by nurture because my career field is being influenced by my continuous experiences under different chefs and such.

I was responding purely to your hard work and being a badass comment. You said there were people who became Gods through hard work and I said that wasn't true, they had to have some kind of advantage at birth to become a God. Also, wasn't Psyche abducted and forcefully given powers? She didn't really go about working hard to be a God did she? She is more of a freak accident than an aspiration, like Peter Parker getting bitten by a spider.

I think most of the opinions here point to a landslide victory for nurture, even more so if Hewitt hadn't confused the two terms.
