Japanese role playing games, like Kingdom Hearts or the Persona or Final Fantasy series vs. Western role playing games, like the Mass Effect, or the Elder Scroll Scrolls or Diablo series.
Personally, I like more WRPG than JRPG. I've clocked more time in Oblivion than any other game, yet I really thought Kingdom Hearts was a very unique and enjoyable time waster. Although calling Kingdom Hearts a JRPG is a little wonky, as there really isn't a lot of Japanese shit in there except for the LOL I HAS 2 KIL MY SULF 4 DA PRINCE$$ LOL.
Now, I haven't really played many JRPGs, but every single one I've played has worked the same way. Turn based battle system, ****ing shit ass story where the main character always falls in love with some girl that's in power over the government somehow, and the protagonist has to always sacrifice himself at the end of the game, but always comes out as the hero, strong and alive. Also, Marche is a douche.
WRPGs are a whole different story. They normally are MAN GAEMS HURR, where you slay goblins and dragons and shit just so you can go **** some whore. There's not much I can say, except they normally have the superior graphics and gameplay, but kill the story while doing so.
Debate about how wrong you think I am, so we can point out the weaboos and shun them.
JRPGs vs. WRPGs.

I really don't care much for rpgs. However, if I ever throw down the cash, it would definitely be a western.
*cough*specifically mass effect*cough*

Final Fantasy is good, and so is the fire emblem series.
Other than that, I'm not a fan of most japanese rpgs. When you've got things like oblivion and mass effect, I seem to spend much more time playing western rpgs

I brought Mass Effect played 10 minutes then turned it off, it was boring :/
Same with Oblivion.
I'm not really into rpgs but FF is amazing.

oh yeah, kingdom hearts is japanese huh, doesn't really seem like it unless you remember theres final fantasy characters and shit in there.
Oblivion is an amazing game, and I don't think any of the upcoming FF games will be much better, personally, final fantasy got boring after X, x-2 was stupid even though i found it fun.
Mass effect is okay, i havent played much of it, theres just way to much ****ing duologue that i really don't ****ing care about.
There are a lot of good jprgs, and a lot of bad jrpgs. same goes with wrpgs.
i find them both pretty fun personally, i like western rpgs because the storylines can be better then some jprgs that i've played

Most JRPGs feel the same, and have that anime-like style.

Cause oblivion is tight besides the fucking necromancers. And I hate turn based games.

Good games are better.
And both produce Good games and bad ones, so you can't say which style is better. Well, I guess you can, but my point is that using individual games as an argument for its style is stupid.

WRPGs.
It all really depends on what you prefer an RPG to focus on: JRPGs tend to focus more on the story and quirky characters, while WRPGs tend to focus more on stats, leveling up, and more mature themes. This trend has been changing recently, though, as a lot of WRPGs (Like Mass Effect) have began to focus even more on the plot and character development.

Lol, imagine that: a soap opera with guns and stats.
Greg: I'm sorry Barbara, but I'm leaving you for Jill.
Barbara: What? No!
::Barbara goes to Jill's house::
Jill: Hello Barbara. Have you come to kill me for having an affair with Greg?
Barbara: Yes, DIE, you scarlet woman!
::Points M16A3 at Jills head and fires::
Jill: You thought that would kill me? I have more hitpoints than you could possibly imagine!
