Ahhhh, I see the ground now. It was so dark that it was hard to see the ground before.
What I mean by making the stickfigures the main focus is making sure that they are large enough that the background doesn't overpower them. With the size that they are in the current picture, the only way that you could really make it work is if you had a more complex background. If you're using a simplistic background, the stickfigures should take up most of the picture. For example!

I would also recommend looking into the "Rule of Thirds". Basically, if there's an imaginary 3x3 grid on your picture, you don't want the main focus to be smack dab in the middle. It should be close to one of the areas where the grid lines intersect. On your picture, the blue guy is right in the middle, and your eye kind of gets caught there and doesn't want to look anywhere else. Look it up, and try messing around with that next time.
