Quite surprised nobody's made this thread yet. Also quite surprised that HOLY SHIT FOUR GOALS IN FIFTEEN MINUTES. That was fucking insane, Lloyd scoring a hat trick as soon as the ball hit the turf, making the tally a 4-0 from the midfield not even 16 minutes into the match. Didn't even wait for the first quarter to pass. Anyway, for those that watched the game(s), saw highlights or otherwise have anything to say about how the cup, the turf or the wreckage that was the Final game, go ahead and shoot.

The Indian women's soccer team qualified for the World Cup after 40 years or something like that. I predict they will lose one match by at least 16 goals.

Yes, considering soccer is the most is the popular sport in the world, the women's game is climbing in terms of popularity - especially the US team - and again, four goals in fifteen minutes; that's glorious.

I don't know how they performed but I haven't heard anything about them at all until this post so I guess that speaks for itself.

If Messi was on the losing end of that four goals in fifteen minutes then that might have been glorious enough for its own thread. But this is women's football. Even if you say it's climbing in popularity, there's still no way you're expecting anyone from this forum to make a thread about one game just because team USA massacred the other team. Sure, maybe someone would have mentioned it in The Chat Thread and it might have sparked some discussion, but that would have been it. I don't think there's even just a general soccer thread here.

I was expecting more of a thread about the actual World Cup because it's a World Cup which is what this is, not a place to jerk over how Japan's asshole got widened. I think there was another thread about the announcement of the Cup. I did not post about it in the Chat Thread because I was under the impression the community was trying to make a general away from minor Chat Thread conversations that don't lead anywhere and towards a more active and fruitful General Forum.

Well the title of this thread literally has "USA vs Japan Final 5-2" in it, so this seemed like its aim was a discussion about that specific game.
But like yeah right now I feel like I'm making too much of a big deal out of the "I'm quite surprised..." part instead of the rest of your post. I'm not really a soccer fan anyway so I will derail this thread no further.

Speaking of assholes getting widened. I was shocked when my brother told me about Hope Solo's butthole pics that were leaked. Like who takes a pic of their buttholle?? So we just kept making Hole Solo jokes all night.
I wanted Japan to win. Their goal keeper's crying made me wanna cry. I felt so bad for her.

You yanks might have won at soccer, but it was plain foolish when these MegaBots guys challenged Japan to a giant robot fight.

Quite a few of them were crying, and pretty intensely, the full Tobey Maguire. It was pretty sad to see. Just imagine climbing through the cup, no losses, only to miss your chance on the final game's first quarter.
And about Solo, that leak made me lose taste for pastrami.

"Tobey Maguire crying"....that's the best thing I've heard in my life omg.
But yeah it was just so sad. I always feel terrible for the losing team unless they're assholes like the Vancouver Canucks or Boston Bruins.
