so when i've got my cintiq, I'm going to start making a comic. Over the past 3-4 days, I've been making some main characters. They are just rough sketches, so there arent many details etc. I'm going to add details and colour them when i get my cintiq, and I'll draw them from a few different positions. The comic will be very unoriginal - just a gang of kids that get up to mischief. But as it's my first, I just want to do something easy. Don't comment on details etc, just the outlines. I'll put them in order from best, to worst (the worst being one i might scrap) :
1)menacing martin: http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh199/jrockpunk1/menacingmartin.jpg
2)mr. grumble and johnny joker: http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh199/jrockpunk1/mrgrumbleandjohnnyjoker.jpg
3)3 new people: http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh199/jrockpunk1/3newpeople.jpg
4)mrs. potty: http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh199/jrockpunk1/mrspotty.jpg
5)hillary happy: http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh199/jrockpunk1/hillaryhappy.jpg
6)connor cool: http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh199/jrockpunk1/connorcool.jpg
7)haven't even bothered to name: http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh199/jrockpunk1/rubbish.jpg
im going to make 1 or 2 more girls, and the rest I'll make up as the story progresses and when i need them. C&C please.

added "3 new people". It's light because i did it in pencil, the vertical lines are meant to be where the face is red, like on some anime faces.

yikes, I really don't like that style.
Keep working on proportions and whatnot, make try get a little more symmetric dog, you feel me?

but arent cartoons all about exaggerating the proportions? like making the head bigger etc etc?

Yeah, but when you make it so that one side of a face bulges out 30ft and the other goes in 12 it's unacceptable. I think what he meant was that you have to keep up with your own drawing... like the shoulders can't be jacked up looking with the arms, or the torso with the legs. Everything has to mesh.
