been so much talk over it that i think its becoming a tad overrated
what are your thoughts on the suicide squad and the guy that plays the joker in this?
when i first saw that it was Leto playing the joker i just assumed it would be horrible.
i saw the clip of the movie recently and i dont think he will be that bad actually.

Two things I immediately dislike about this movie:
- Deadshot is being played by Will Smith: Deadshot in the comics is a white, ruthless asshole. Will Smith is the antithesis of that
- Harley doesn't have a Brooklyn accent
Why? Leto is a fine actor.

so many people are bashing him as the joker and he looks like marilyn manson for this role
not so much as a joker. he is ok but not too good for suicidesquad i dont think he has the personality to pull off really well
and about the Harley part i agree with you there. bugs me that she doesnt have the accent
i think its a big part of her being Harley Quinn. Will Smith i love him as an actor but i hate to also mention he is playing Deadshot in this movie, not a good role for him
i want to see this movie regardless just to see how it all turns out

There is no point hating on a movie for not sticking to the comics. When you think of Deadshot, you don't think "white guy". You think "badass cunt who never misses". It doesn't matter if he is black or white, as long as he embodies the virtues of Deadshot properly. I agree that Smith might be too soft to play him, but we'll wait till the movie comes out. I don't know if you guys are too young to remember this, but I recall a whole legion of Joker fans being up in arms about "that gay, sensitive cowboy from Brokeback Mountain" playing the Joker and he ended up setting it on fire. So I will reserve judgement on Leto too.

The only movie that should be criticized for not following the comics is Watchmen

Because it attempted to be faithful and failed, rather than try to do something different.
I didn't MIND the whole nuclear attack thing at the end though, instead of the giant alien creature. But I thought it was a little weird and took away the point of the ending (humanity banding together in the face of an otherworldly threat, the Comedian's genuine horror at the creation, the insignificance [and significance] of humanity on the large scale of the universe.)

Oh I wasn't really serious. Just a little sarcastic. Because Watchmen is suppose to be the holy grail of all graphic novels so the movie can never compare

Yeah, also it wasn't like an on-going series for years, so it was intended to be a very faithful adaptation. Whereas with Suicide Squad or Batman or Superman, they are characters who have been dealt with by several artists and writers over the years, so I don't mind filmmaker putting their own spin on those characters. But Watchman is essentially like adapting a single novel.

I don't know how much I'd agree with that, but you do have a point.
Either way, I still don't think Will Smith was a good idea for a casting choice.

Yeah I agree with this, especially since the only character Will Smith can play is Will Smith
